What I’m doing with my life
I work for a performing arts organization in town, and write and perform as much as I have the energy for on nights and weekends. I own a house in South Philly, which is taking up a lot of my time now - lots of improvements to be made! I came to the Philly area for grad school, and was lucky enough to find a home here. I love my neighborhood and have a really supportive network of friends. I hope one day that I'll be able to share my wonderful life with someone wonderful.
I’m really good at
I write pretty well. I make a mean breakfast.

I'm a very empathetic person, and I think I do a good job of making the people I meet feel special.
The first things people usually notice about me
My easy demeanor, my smile, my ability to make you feel comfortable. I have short hair now, too - no surprises.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Geek Love by Katherine Dunn, The Incredible Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon (really anything by Michael Chabon, I just love him), The Road by Cormac McCarthy, Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides, Devil in the White City by Erik Larson, World War Z by Max Brooks, Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov (now suddenly painfully aware that only one of these books was written by a woman - any suggestions?)

Goodfellas, Birdman, The Birdcage, Joe Vs. The Volcano, The Hurt Locker, American Psycho, American Beauty. On a real documentary kick right now.

Parks and Recreation, Game of Thrones, Westworld, 30 Rock, House of Cards, Insecure, Sense8

Mos Def, Tupac, Lianne La Havas, Al Green, Beyonce, Coldplay, Curtis Mayfield, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Hozier, Jackson 5, Jay Z, Laura Mvula, Louis Armstrong, Nina Simone, She and Him, Valerie June, The Supremes

I love food. Food is my favorite food.

I listen to podcasts all the time.
Six things I could never do without
A book, cold beer, something to write with, something to write on, someone to talk to, a place to be alone
I spend a lot of time thinking about
When the apocalypse, zombie or otherwise, might occur.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably a play followed by drinks with friends. Or falling asleep by midnight with my dog in front of the television.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I will deny it to the day I die, but the truth is I'm a deeply competitive person.
You should message me if
You don't read the words "I want to have fun!" and interpret them as "I want to have sex with a bunch of strangers from the internet!"

Also, I know this isn't like a lot of girls on here, but I think meeting someone from OkC who seems interesting as soon as possible is to best way to remove the internet-weirdness from the situation. So let me know if you're actually interested in grabbing a drink/coffee! A real conversation would be great!
