My self-summary
I live in an old house full of new (and old) books... I think too much; ask too many questions; solve too many problems (that no one seems very concerned about) and I find too much humor in the absurdities in life. I fear fame. I enjoy my life with my friends and projects. I have lived and intend to keep living a charmed existence. I'm happy to be the guy you think of as the neighborhood curmudgeon so you will never suspect that I shoveled your sidewalk while you were at work...
What I’m doing with my life
**UPDATE** Recently got un-laid-off and now I'm a traveling fool! **END OF UPDATE** Living in "laid off" but "on call" land. Working on a new business and several writing projects and the renovation of my old victorian - all at once. My projects are currently very unruly children with no concept of boundaries.
I’m really good at
Finding solutions. Memorable turns of phrase. Amassing a book collection. Building book shelves for the aforementioned amassing. Bringing clarity to confusing and irrational circumstances. Omelets.
The first things people usually notice about me
My laugh -- I guess I'm not very inhibited

Six things I could never do without
In no particular order...

1. Books
2. Sleep
3. Good Food
4. Friends
5. Good Conversation
6. Affection
I spend a lot of time thinking about
• Why we don't have more intelligent solutions to the world's problems by now (because they certainly exist -- why so slow on implementation?)
• How the hell anyone's relationship actually works when none of us seem to be able to communicate worth a damn.
• Taking my time... I like kissing... don't need to be in a rush... I'm looking for connection not frantic consummation... yes, I know where we are going and how to get there I'm just enjoying all the scenery... smelling the flowers... tasting the fruit along the way... relax... you will hear all the words you want to hear... you will feel every touch you have desired... the anticipation is not a bad thing.
• How to write the perfect movie scene.
