My self-summary
Rather than write that 'I like climbing hills and snuggling up on the sofa with a bottle of wine' I thought I'd put some less trite random likes!: radio 4; electronic music; the third sector; exercise; armchair politics; open minds; amusing dancing; films with subtitles; books with none; nutrition; people; record buying. And some things I'm not so keen on: celebrities; radio 1 muzack; misplaced apostrophe's; judgemental folk; religion; people who aren't interested in anything; the archers; profile pics (mine); gluten; sport (watching); celery; the daily mail; homes with no books.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a community nutritionist doing food & health work for a charity in Edinburgh. I basically teach folk how to chop eggs & boil onions and run various bits of training on nutrition.
I’m really good at
prevarication, mastering, making dad jokes (oh god I'm too young), walking fast
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
OK, I don't tend to have favourites, as such, but here are some films and books/authors I've enjoyed fairly recently (in no particular order): Neal Stephenson; A Suitable Boy; Paul McAuley; Primo Levi; Flann O'Brien; Natsuo Kirino; The Master and the Margarita; The Corner; Patrick O'Brian; Maus; Peter Watts; Tokyo Year Zero; Katalin Varga; Pat Barker.

Music....? Lots of fairly obscure electronic stuff, of which the biggest name is Autechre, I suppose. If pushed I'll admit to a soft spot for early 80s alternative, punk, older hip-hop, dub, various types of metal, 90s techno, drone, ambient, noise, breakcore, early blues and oh this is getting silly.

Food: Indian, Thai, Korean, British(!) in that order. But I'm a fussy sod due to Coeliacs disease so I'll eat pretty much anything that hasn't gluten or dairy. Except celery of course. And celeriac; that's even worse.

But what about good TV? It does exist... Monkeydust, the Thick of It, The Wire, Spiral, Borgen, stranger things
The six things I could never do without
other people, time to myself, moosick, walking, staying in all day reading, a job I give a sh*t about
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Getting a cat, food, making music
On a typical Friday night I am
Occasionally out but more likely at home alone attempting to write 'music'. There's an outside chance I might be, ahem, 'dancing' at some sort of disco.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
is that the second cassette I ever bought was Rick Astley (but the first was Paul Hardcastle which is slightly cooler)
