My self-summary
I'm moving to India in the middle of July, and will need to settle in. Working for a personal foundation. I'll update this soon.

Eh, I hope that I'm able to communicate who I am and what I want; if I'm not, just ask.

Some things about myself:
I'm really interested in the issues surrounding the topics of art and design. If you look around you, everything is designed in some way or another. (The small, and often unnoticed, objects in out life have a profound power, not only how it relates to the markets but also to culture, education, and conception. The iPod, a little rectangular prism, has given a constant connection to media to the Western world. Or even more mundane, think about the humble plastic bag. Trillions of the same thing, so pervasive, you can find them washed ashore in Antarctica. Who was the guy to design that? Has it changed in any way over the years?)
Making a good dinner after coming back from crew, or some late-night cookies is a major stress-reliever for me. And, let me tell you, I make a damn good pie crust.
I love to debate and discuss things to the extreme; this usually ends up with metaphysical discussions deriving from a conversation that started with "how are you doing." Also, I enjoy exploring the inherent contradictions in out world, and though they are frustrating at times, they pose some fascinating questions.
I'm from Wisconsin. I. LOVE. Wisconsin. Not only is it beautiful (my favorite areas are the lakes in Madison and the Blue Mounds in the center of the state), Wisconsin has Cheese and Beer (and GOOD beer, too); what more do you need in life? Also, Madison has all the liberals, intellectuals, and organic food that you could ever (or never, at times) want.

Overall, I'm a down-to-earth guy looking for someone who is real, someone to have a conversation with, and someone to truly get to know.
What I’m doing with my life
Right now I'm persuing a Bachlers of Science in Architecture (BSA) with a concentration in Computational Design from MIT. Other than studying, I am a varsity coxswain for the MIT light-weight men (I'm the guy that yells at the rowers). I also love to explore Boston in my free time, my favorite areas being the North End/Haymarket, Brookline, and the South End. (If you know of any great restaurants or hole-in-the-wall stores, let me know, I love finding new, unique places.)

Right now, the long term plan is to become a professor doing research in computational design, design pedagogy, and future tools that will affect theses areas.
If all else fails, I plan on living as a hermit in the Canadian wilderness raising sheep and muskox; every day, this option is looking more and more appealing...
I’m really good at
Pulling up useless facts and inserting them, sometimes randomly, into a conversation.
Thinking critically, and, thus, over-thinking things.
Creating things.
BSing on essays (let me tell you, I can find the metaphysical complexities and inherent contradictions in anything!).
Experimenting in the kitchen.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm an up-front person who doesn't like to bull-shit people, yet at the same time I'm very diplomatic. I don't like to take myself (or anyone else) too seriously; if you can't laugh at yourself, someone else will certainly be laughing at you.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
books: In Cold Blood, TinTin, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Scarlet Letter, Looking Around, The Color Purple, a lot of architecture theory books... yeah, nerdy-ness.
I just finished Marshall McLuhan's seminal "The Medium is the Massage." If you want to daze into oblivion and get really meta, we can discuss this.

movies: The Bourne Series, North By Northwest, Catch Me If You Can, The Emperor's New Groove, And the Band Played On, Outbreak (I'm trying to check off as many IMBD top 250 as I can, too.) I also love documentaries that make me think and get me angry and wanting to take political action, Fahrenheit 911, Bowling for Columbine, The Fog of War, Why We Fight.

music: Regina Specktor, Dada Life, Ratatat, Thomas Gold, Nicolas Jaar, Mozart, John Adams, Philip Glass, Dan Black, the Ditty Bops, Antony and the Johnsons, David Guetta, practically everything (save for country) depending on my mood.

TV: 30 Rock, Frontline, Fraiser, Arrested Development, the Simpsons, Family Guy (don't judge), Portlandia, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Modern Family, Mystery, Law&Order SVU, PBS in general

food: anything and everything! Thai is excellent, French, so homey, Italian is always a good fall-back. And, at the end of the day, I have an intense love of chocolate cake along-side a refreshing glass of milk.
Six things I could never do without
1. time to think and relax
2. coffee
3. intellectual stimulation
4. a kitchen
5. a pen and a notebook
6. something to create
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The interconnections between things, architecture, design, politics, all the stuff I have to do.

But more often: what's for dessert... I mean dinner...
On a typical Friday night I am
I'm either:
at home baking, watching a movie, talking with friends, relaxing after a long week...
I'm out-and-about with friends if there is a good party somewhere.
but really
I've been doing a lot of work recently, and trying to grab some sleep!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
ehhh. I have an personal aversion to wearing boxers?
I'll admit to a lot more if I get to know you... not that I have anything to hide...
You should message me if
You should message me if you want to hang out and get to know someone new, I'm always up to exploring Boston, watching a movie, cooking/baking.
I always like meeting new people...
...but please, know that I am far more likely to respond if you actually write something, and something interesting! Also, just be upfront; I find honesty, intelligence, and stability to be the greatest turn-ons.

(Also, I have no clue what "short-term dating" means, so if it is just a euphemism for hook-ups, please ignore.)
