My self-summary
It's interesting casting one's net out into the cloud isn't it? Met some very cool people on this site so far and the ones that weren't so great, well, they'll all be good stories one day eh?

ps I've been told that I appear to be online on this site a lot but I'm actually only on here maybe once a week. So please disregard whatever it says about when I've been on here last.
What I’m doing with my life
Living in a van down by the river.

I’m really good at
Professionally I help tune people's minds and pianos (I've two separate careers/businesses), but I also occasionally get paid to belly dance and play music (lead guitar, a little piano and clarinet) which I guess means that someone somewhere thinks I'm good at these things. I am also an avid open water swimmer here in the bay and although there's no chance of getting paid for that, it does suggest that I'm good at not heeding my natural instincts and good judgement about cold water, chop, boats and marine creatures.
The first things people usually notice about me
People usually say that they notice my smile, my eyes or my dimples. Of course, if they get to know me better they end up admitting to have actually been focused on parts farther south. Guess we should all stop pretending that humans aren't actually animals like all other creatures eh? But please, tell me it's my face and not some other physical aspect and I'll give you more points for that! ;)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
There isn't enough room! I'm very passionate about all these things. I'd be a much richer woman if it weren't for my love of eating out! I'm a typical San Franciscan in my foodie-ness, but I like to think I keep the pretentiousness that can accompany it to a minimum. Books: Always working on one, it's how I unwind before going to sleep (now that I'm single anyway!). Currently halfway through Infinite Jest. David Foster Wallace is a genius. Was a genius. So sad he is gone. I will be working on this one for a while given that it's 1000 pages, involves multiple story lines and characters and requires looking up a word every third page or so despite my feeling that I've got a fairly good vocabulary, he's introduced me to a whole lot of new words! Music, ah music. My iPod playlist, before it sadly got lost, had a lot of middle eastern music, Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Leonard Cohen and Beats Antique. I was, sadly, getting sick of all of it simply from overplay so we'll see what ends up on my next iPod.
Six things I could never do without
In a relationship:

someone who's genuinely interested in hearing about my day
good sex
back massages
I spend a lot of time thinking about
If I am to be honest, the pie chart would go something like this: food 10%, swimming 10%, bills and other minutia 10%, what appointments I have when 10%, my clients 10%, sex and relationships 25%, friends 15%, politics and social/environmental issues 5%, where I left my keys/glasses/favorite top/marbles 5%. I'll do a full power point for you with better graphics when I meet you. ;)
On a typical Friday night I am
I'd love to paint myself as the kind of gal that takes full advantage of all the amazing live music, art, theatre, restaurants etc. that this town has to offer, but the reality is I often get up at 5 or 6 am Saturday morning for a club swim so Friday night often finds me curled up in bed with a good book. Saturday night, ok, take me out on the town!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I only got in trouble once in all my years of elementary school. It was for chasing then pinning down a boy that my best friend had a crush on so that she could kiss him. I thought I was being a good friend! Good thing this didn't happen in the 'aughts as I probably would have been suspended for sexual harassment!
You should message me if
you're cute and smart and kind, and can meet my six 'can't live withouts' and don't chew with your mouth open!
