My self-summary
I drink a lot of tea. Transplanted to Pennsylvania from Nebraska for my job as an engineer. Lived in Lancaster for almost four years, but still consider myself new to the area. Liberal, intellectual, curious about the world. Don't think I could live without music playing almost constantly. Looking for someone to go on adventures with!

INJF, apparently

I get along with most people, I'm ambitious and have a good job with potential for growth, and mostly got my shit together. I love life and being alive, but am missing that special someone to share it all with. If you think you could fit the bill, hit me up. :)
What I’m doing with my life
Originally from Nebraska, I moved here a few years ago to start my first real-person, grown-up job. I love my job and enjoy what I do, and already have received a promotion, so I must be somewhat good at it. I'm spending my free time exploring my new home and all it has to offer, especially its hiking trails. Contemplating what it would take to go back for a PhD. I've really been getting into the craft beer thing lately. I also enjoy reading, watching movies, and attempting to play guitar.
I’m really good at
going with the flow, being able to laugh no matter what, making lame jokes, listening, procrastinating
The first things people usually notice about me
Beats me, I'm pretty quiet until I get to know someone, so they may not notice me at all.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Some good books: The Sun Also Rises; Lonesome Dove; Into The Wild; The Killer Angels; To Kill a Mockingbird; Walden; East of the Mountains,
Some favorite authors: Ernest Hemingway, Kurt Vonnegut, Charles Bukowski, Larry McMurtry, Bernard Cornwell, James Michener. I like to read a lot, classics, travel, historical fiction, or anything that makes you think.

Favorite movies: Into the Wild, The Big Lebowski, Office Space, Nebraska

Favorite TV shows: Rick and Morty, Game of Thrones, Last Week Tonight, Daily Show, Archer, Bojack Horseman

Favorite music: I love all sorts of music of all genres but probably listen to folk (I guess they call it Americana now?) and 90s rock the most, along with a bit of classical. Was big into country music in high school, and kinda grew out of it, but it's still reflected in some of what I listen to. Some current favorites... Mandolin Orange, Josh Ritter, Brandi Carlile, Townes Van Zandt, Steve Earle, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, The Avett Brothers, Norah Jones, Shovels & Rope, John Frusciante, Old Crow Medicine Show, John Lennon, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, John Prine, The Black Keys, Willie Nelson, Radiohead, Tool, The Offspring, Justin Townes Earle, The Doors, Jack White, Garth Brooks, Bob Dylan, Ani DiFranco, Johnny Cash, Rage Against the Machine, Led Zeppelin, John Prine, Nick Drake, Nirvana, Allman Brothers, Neil Young, Todd Snider, the list goes on...
Anything on NPR's Tiny Desk is going to be pretty awesome
Also, Tchaikovsky's 6th symphony is probably the most perfect piece of music ever created

Favorite food: I try to eat local and/or organic when I can, but I'm really not that picky, though I do appreciate a well cooked meal.
Except olives, I hate olives.
Six things I could never do without
Good friends
Good music
A good book
A cold beer
A good joke
The little things that make life ok

A man is rich in proportion to the number of things he can afford to let alone. - Thoreau
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Considering I spend 8+ hours a day there, mostly work and my career... but otherwise: What I can do to make the world a better place, where I'd like to travel to next, where I can find a good hiking trail, all the things I want to do with my life, Husker football.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually out with friends, alternatively, watching Netflix, reading a book, or planning the next day's hike.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Sometimes I wonder if answering questions on here is a good idea. You can get hung up on someone's answer to a particular question, and miss out on something good.

That I've been on okcupid long enough for this field to exist...
You should message me if
You have a passion for nature, travel, books, and/or music. You think going to the symphony would be a cool date.
You don't hate me for liking the Ryan Adams version of "1989" better
Looking for new friends as well as a potential relationship. So if you wanna hang out, shoot me a message!
