My self-summary
Transplant to Los Angeles from the midwest (one of the flat states), though I've always considered this part of the world "home." I can't help but love a place where I can swim, ski and hike all within a day. Plus, it has more than it's own share of museums, concert halls, venues, bars, coffeehouses, restaurants and oddities. I'm endlessly curious and looking for new things.

I keep an open mind. I enjoy many things, most people, all thoughts and a large percentage of experiences. I am passionate about all forms of art and expression. I rarely wander without music, am enthralled by film, enjoy architecture, and feel lost without a good book. I am not just a consumer in this regard -- I'm also a musician, occasionally work in film, my job allows me to contribute to the City's landscape and I write.

I am a Navy veteran; it was there that I found my love for public service and the drive that motivates me to give back to society. This is still present in my day-to-day life as I work to remain very active in my community. I do travel though -- the world is large, borders endless and always offer something new to experience -- so I'm both local and global.

Balance -- great word. To me balance is incredibly important. Balance between work and play. Between health and enjoyment. Comedy and tragedy... usually comedy.

I'll leave it at this, as I'd like to keep a bit of mystery for future dates.
What I’m doing with my life
Learning, wandering and soaking everything in.
I’m really good at
I'm a jack-of-all-trades... so quite a few things.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably the beard...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
All genres of music (minus modern country). I'm a musician (drums, bass, singer) so I find that I pretty frequently require some form of background soundtrack.

Movies: anything really. I'm also into comedies, dramas, action flicks, little indie pictures, sci-fi, fantasy.

Books: I am constantly reading something (frequently multiple somethings)... always taking recommendations.

Shows: South Park. It's Always Sunny, Better Call Saul, plenty of HBO series...

Food: Mexican, Spanish, Italian, French, Chinese, Jamaican, BBQ... plenty of other things too.
The six things I could never do without
1) Something to read.
2) Music.
3) Art.
4) Nature.
5) Family.
6) Spontaneity.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
... everything. I spend a lot of time thinking.
On a typical Friday night I am
Wandering the town, hanging out with friends, meeting new people or sitting at home reading a book; I'm a bit fluid in that regard.
