My self-summary
Everything more or less comes down to one principle with me: I try to keep an open mind. I try even harder not to judge, as I don't know the circumstances that leads to someone's actions. I enjoy many things, most people, all thoughts and a large number of experiences. I love most forms of "art" (though admittedly interpretive dance confuses the h*ll out of me), and I strive to find artists, musicians and other interesting people to talk to. Music, paintings, drawings, sculptures, and architecture (very much so, music and architecture) have a tendency to grab my attention and I'll usually go out of my way to take a look and listen. On the hobby front; I am a musician, writer, occasionally do stand up, have worked on films, DJed... I guess I've done (and still do) a lot of things, really -- though those things have taken a bit of a back seat to my career.

Balance -- great word. To me balance is incredibly important. Balance between work and play. Between health and enjoyment. I feel that life is short and that we should all act accordingly. I try my hardest to give back to my community, and I enjoy helping people along the way. I am a Navy veteran and admittedly that does influence my personality, though I'm about as liberal as a person can get. I have lived in quite a few different places -- my favorite being my present home of Southern California (I love hiking mountains and hanging at the beach). I love to travel... plan on doing quite a bit more of that.
What I’m doing with my life
All sorts of varying and interesting things...
I’m really good at
Quite a few things... not so good at other things... ok at far more things. I'm a jack-of-all-trades.
The first things people usually notice about me
Whatever hat I'm wearing at the moment -- and yes, I wear them a lot (it's a Navy thing, feel free to ask) -- and a generally laid back demeanor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
All genres of music (minus modern country). I love any type of rock (alt, grunge, metal, punk, pop, &c.&.c), jazz, fusion, classical, bluegrass, folk, some hip-hop... I greatly enjoy electronica (everything from trip-hop and acid jazz, to really spacey ambient and IDM). At the moment, I'm into Washed Out, Violent Soho, the Belligerants, the Besnard Lakes, Bob James and a million other things. Really, I love music.

Movies: anything really. I'm into comedies, dramas, action flicks, little indie pictures, sci-fi, fantasy, horror.

Books: I own a library. Dumas, King, Hemingway, Feist, Palahniuk, Hunter S, Cornwell, Rice, Huxley, Fitzgerald, Bukowski... the list goes on and on. I am constantly reading something (frequently multiple somethings)...

Shows: I don't really watch a lot of TV. South Park. Breaking Bad. Better Call Saul, plenty of HBO series...

Food: Mexican, Spanish, Italian, French, Chinese, Jamaican, BBQ... plenty of other things too. I'm a fan of beer and wine as well and am a big fan taste testing new things...

I follow sports as well; though mostly just the Jayhawks (football and basketball), the Lakers, Chargers and Kings.
The six things I could never do without
1) Something to read.
2) Good conversation.
3) Music.
4) Nature.
5) Oxygen.
6) Direction.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
... everything. I spend a lot of time thinking.
On a typical Friday night I am
Wandering the town, hanging out with friends or meeting new people; I'm a bit fluid in that regard.
