My self-summary
I'm pretty into outdoor things and fitness. I like hiking, snowboarding, lifting weights, and rock climbing (a fact that will become abundantly clear in the rest of my profile). I've also been into hot yoga lately. It would be nice to meet someone who wants to do those kinds of things together.

I'm in the final few months of my PhD. I used to think I would make a career doing science, but now I'm more drawn to the tech industry. I'd be happy to tell you more about all that in person.

I like to think I'm a little bit more romantic than the OKCupid matching algorithm believes.

I think I might be more of a nerd than my profile lets on.

I will walk over sidewalk grates for you.

I'm generally a pretty positive and independent person, who is excited about life. Looking for people who feel the same way.

Don't worry, I won't make you go to hot yoga with me. We can just chat over a drink.

Update: Finished the PhD. I'm still in the dolphin lab, but I'm going to be working as a software engineer soon. My goal for the next year is to become a programmer nomad. That would look pretty cool on business card right?

I've also realized I can't seriously get good at rock climbing and weight lifting at the same time. I've been pretty focused on weight lifting, and that takes up a lot of my free time, but I still climb for fun once in a while.
What I’m doing with my life
Working in a lab, studying how dolphins talk.

Writing my thesis.

Climbing things.

Planning vacations in which I climb things and also ones in which I stay closer to the ground.

Watching cat videos on the internet.
I’m really good at
math (ladies please contain yourselves), standing on my head
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably the hair.

The six things I could never do without
1) Coffee (Seriously I tried a few days ago. I think I turned into some kind of monster zombie.)
2) Heavy things to lift
3) Tall things to climb
4) Good beer drank (drunk?) with good friends
5) I seem to making liberal use of parentheses for sarcastic asides (so those)
6) A sixth thing
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Stupid dolphin, just tell me what you're saying so I can get my degree.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either gym or out with friends in Brooklyn or on the lower east side. Recently I've been trying to make trips out of the city on weekends. I just got back from an urban exploration road trip around Pennsylvania.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
One of my pictures is slightly photo shopped, but if you want to know you have to guess which one.
You should message me if
Just do it. All of the popular kids are.
