My self-summary
Update July 2016: Just moved! Now a DC Local!

I've lived and worked all over the world and have become a serious travel bug because of it. Specifically though: I tend to be a lazy traveller (when not working) i.e. my vacations have just a few highlights and a lot of downtime to see and experience the city or landscape, it ties in with my photography projects. I am hoping to make my way to South America and Scandinavia for a vacation within the next 12 months. With all the travel, I'm excited about establishing a home base in DC for at least the next couple of years.

A few more things: RPCV. I really nerd out about space, science, and technology in general. I take photos when I can find the time, but my backlog of SD cards needing to be catalogued and edited is growing unwieldy. In my spare time you can find me watching netflix/movies, reading, playing a video game (currently enthralled in KSP), cooking, or at the gym.
What I’m doing with my life
I work with Health Information Systems (which is a lot of M&E) in many countries throughout Africa, the Middle East and the South Pacific and I love it. It is a lot of fun to be in exotic places and make an actual difference in an entire country's health system. Work has me traveling about 25% of the time and the list is starting to grow: Vanuatu, DRC, Sierra Leone, Thailand, Jordan.

Beyond work I am saving for a house, and toying with the idea of getting an MPH (or more courses on statistics).
I’m really good at
Figuring out airline miles programs (Only to have them devalued after I've perfected the approach). Programming VCRs. Using Excel... Not sure I should be proud of that last one.
The first things people usually notice about me
Bright eyes and taller than average, and that I can be very animated about topics of interest.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
TV: Archer, Bob's Burgers, Rick and Morty!
Movies: Wes Anderson & Older Pixar Movies
Music: Too much to name here
Books: George R. R. Martin, Michael Crichton, Michael Connelly, Thomas Harris, Orson Scott Card, Jim Butcher, Chuck Palahniuk, Stieg Larsson, etc…
Food: Everything, Pizza being my favorite. I'll down some lap lap manioc if given the chance though.
The six things I could never do without
I've lived without all of these things before, and it really makes you appreciate the little things (like light-switches that aren't just some strange industrial art form, and no function):

1. Electricity
2. Running water
3. Laptop
4. Coffee
5. Friends to share with
6. A nice space to cook awesome food
I spend a lot of time thinking about

On a typical Friday night I am
Don't have a typical Friday night to draw from yet, but beside grabbing a shell of kava at the neighborhood nakamal, youTube nights with friends and beers are always a good time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm pretty much an open book...
You should message me if
You live in DC or close in.

You enjoy traveling too, and can help me pick and plan the next awesome destination.

You think that we share a hobby or two.

You have a good pity laugh (I'm fairly adept at Dad Jokes it seems).

Lazy nights at home with netflix sound just as fun to you as nights out at the bar with friends.

You want to meet up for coffee and/or beer.
