My self-summary
My component parts were all forged in the hearts of enormous nuclear furnaces that violently died eons ago in cataclysmic explosions. That about sums up my existence.

I sometimes wish this "My Details" section --------->
gave us a little more freedom. For instance if we had the option to put "Has kids but doesn't want any," or "Drinks desperately but it doesn't matter," wouldn't that be just splendid?

Looking for those prone to spontaneous adventure and always willing to try new things. Found a new beer bar? Need a plus-one for the marriage ceremony of your lunatic aunt’s dog and cat? ...Hit me up.

Yes, I play guitar. I don’t play it to pick up chicks. I don’t play it to gather around a campfire and play everyone’s favorite song to sing along with. I play it for myself. I almost exclusively write and record original songs: catchy tunes in non-standard time signatures with the ultimate goal of creativity and uniqueness. If you play an instrument, we can send each other messages about that.

I play with words, I make stupid jokes, I solve problems, I build things, I fix things, I learn for the sake of learning, and if you’re open-minded, I will get along with you.
What I’m doing with my life
Being a senior badass hacker engineer.
I’m really good at
I'm real good at grammer and spelling.

I have recently discovered that I'm really good at racquetball and that it may just be the best sport ever. I am always looking for racquetball partners!

I have a killer sense of direction. I'll never get lost.
The first things people usually notice about me
Dashing good looks, statuesque figure, eyes as deep and wild as the ocean itself. Everyone tells me this. Everyone.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Food is fantastic. You would be hard pressed to find a food I won't eat. I tend to prefer (extremely) spicy or savory over sweet. Favorite cuisines are sushi, Korean bbq, sichuan, Mexican, Indian, and Thai. Worst food ever is the potato; it's nothing but the absence of flavor, an anomalous void of taste.

I prefer music that exhibits skillful instrumentation and composition; this usually falls under the genres of progressive rock, experimental, classical, or jazz. And electronica beep boop.

If a movie focuses more on special effects than acting/plot, chances are I'll mercilessly mock it. This explains why the old Star Wars films are so good and the new ones are so terrible. My favorite movie is The Sting. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind is up there too. I generally dislike horror movies but 28 Days Later was brilliant.

I am a fan of most Adult Swim shows. Tim and Eric awesome show great job and Tom Goes to the Mayor are the pinnacle of humor and tickle my absurdist sensibilities in all the right ways. I enjoy Arrested Development, HIMYM, the wire, the office, futurama, flight of the conchords, firefly, BSG, Venture Bros, Xavier, Dr Who, Walking Dead, Archer, and the League. Watched Game of Thrones and now I'm reading through the book series cause I'm not gonna wait until next season to find out what happens. :P Really the best show ever is Cosmos.

There was a period in my life when all I had time to read were scientific papers. Now I'm back to my usual cycle of: pick up a new book, read it enthusiastically for about a week, then slowly finish it off over the next decade. The books I am currently creeping through are Infinite Jest, Game of Thrones books (duh), Godel Escher Bach (mind-blowing, but a million pages long), Demon-Haunted World (Sagan is a hero of mine), God Delusion (Dawkins too), and Romance of the Three Kingdoms (translated to English).
Six things I could never do without
the internet - it makes doing research a million times easier. It also makes NOT doing research a million times easier.

burritos - especially the chipotle kind, the wet kind, or the 3am kind, preferably smothered in copious amounts of:

hot sauce - I have a small collection going. Most recent addition is a wicked ghost pepper sauce. As much as I'd like to say I could never do without flavorful food, we all know encountering bland food is inevitable. Hot sauce makes that bland food palatable, and thus I could never do without it. That said, not even hot sauce can fix a potato.

craft beer/wine/single malt scotch - After all, alcohol should be enjoyed for its flavor. I grouped these together because I noticed my list is becoming very food/drink oriented (did I call hot sauce a drink? you decide).

guitar - it's a huge stress reliever and awesome fun to play.

an inquisitive mind - because beer and burritos alone didn't get me through grad school (but they did help).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What to say to you that will distinguish me from the numerous other weirdos that are probably filling your inbox.

Research, philosophy, current events, consciousness, the cosmos, morality, mortality, technology.

If you could travel close enough to the speed of light, you could circumnavigate the universe within a human lifetime (thanks to relativity)! Of course by the time you got back to the solar system, the sun will have been long dead and the earth would no longer exist (damn you, relativity!).
On a typical Friday night I am
bored. Let's find something to do, damnit.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I love to watch large airplanes land. It's satisfying and relaxing.
You should message me if
-you know what's good for you.
-you love the banter.
-you know what "vapid" means, and you are anything but.

Message me immediately if you play racquetball! Or if you want to learn to play racquetball.

-you didn't know what "vapid" meant, so you looked it up.
