My self-summary
Without a doubt I am driven by my curiosity and belief that life is an adventure and that tomorrow is never guaranteed. I try not to sweat the small stuff and that a life with regrets is not one worth living.

Many of my favorite memories and aspects of my life have come about from being unscripted and spur-the-moment. I enjoy a quaint little spot much more than overly-praised places and look for the positive in most occasions. I prefer to find my own way and adventures as opposed to following someone else.

I have been fortunate enough to travel to many far off destinations around the world. Between family vacations, school and work; I have seen much of what this world has to offer and because of that I tend to have a unique perspective on things.

I tend to find myself pursuing a state of balance. Be it the struggle between staying in or going out, eating desserts or going to the gym, or even experiencing the different highs that life has to offer.

Lastly, I am a very open-minded person. I feel one's ability to recognize and accept what is different than their own mindset to be very important and a must have in a partner.

What I’m doing with my life
After four years studying engineering at a maritime academy I graduated and was employed by the Navy as a contractor adventuring and sailing the high seas for four years. As my passion for shipping dwindled I took a year off to reevaluate myself and got a chance to do some new things that were out of my then comfort zone. Desiring to do something vastly different I worked for a year in China as a consultant on a construction project. I lived in a rural mountain town deep in the Sichuan province, when it was not a struggle it was an enlightening experience.

I now work full time as an Engineering Project Manager for a container shipping firm. In addition, I am pursuing my aspirations of a graduate degree, I am a believer in life-long learning and constantly bettering oneself.

When I am not working I am exploring passions and enjoying what life has to offer.
I’m really good at
The human mind fascinates me and I often think if I didn't choose to be an engineer, I would have gone into Psychology. I have a great sense of self awareness and as a result I am very skilled in noticing other people's mannerisms and personality traits. I can read people pretty well and will probably ask you questions no one else has ever asked. I can also se through people's facades and there is a good chance I will make fun of you if I think you take yourself too seriously.

I take pride in others feeling safe when in my presence. I have been told I am very trustworthy and my ability to get others to open up is uncanny.

I am pretty handy, being an engineer for a living and growing up with train sets, models, and legos I am quite crafty and can build most things with ease. Ikea stands no match for me!
The first things people usually notice about me
Perhaps the most common thing I get from people is, "Did you know you look a lot like _____ ." So far there is a long list of celebrities that have filled that blank. I suppose based on my hair, lighting or how drunk the person is I get some random look-a-likes. I usually take it as a compliment...usually.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
TV - I don't watch too much TV these days, but some shows I like to keep up with are: Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Portlandia, Modern Family, Rick and Morty, Spartacus, Arrested Development, Party Down, Lost, Battlestar Galactica, Top Gear, Doctor Who, Community, Parks and Recreation, Robot Chicken, Eastbound and Down, The Walking Dead, Last Week Tonight, South Park, Sherlock, Game of Thrones, and Silicon Valley.

Music - These days I like anything that evokes emotion and thought. Lately it has been primarily deep progressive and melodic house that speaks to me. I like to zone out to downtempo and ambient tracks.

But like I said sometimes the mood changes and so must the sound. I have a pretty eclectic library that I play through everyone so often, some of my favorites are: Emancipator, Arcade Fire, The Black Keys, The Glitch Mob, Empire of the Sun, The Killers, Flogging Molly, Phantogram, Johnny Cash, Dragonforce, Tyco, Flume, Chromeo and tons of other random artists.

Food - I would say on average I could go for good Japanese, Thai, or Vietnamese anytime. Otherwise I totally get down on Ethiopian, Mexican, Indian and Afghan.
The six things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How I impact the world around me. What inspires people to be who they are. When I become a part of someone's life, did I leave it in a better state than when I entered.
On a typical Friday night I am
I am naturally curious and enjoy any experience that I believe to be positive or can generate growth. This includes but is not limited to festivals, fairs, concerts, art shows, museums, conventions, traveling, sporting events or perhaps even curled up with someone who is dear to my heart.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Without thinking we often compare the unknown to what as known, it gives us reference and security. With that being said, people have always tried to classify me into a social subgroup and have failed. I have a very dynamic personality and cannot be branded one thing or another. I can be a bit of a chameleon, but if you take the time to get to know me you will see there is more to me than meets the eye.
You should message me if
We share a common outlook on life and perhaps even a love of Tiki bars?
You are looking for someone to go on an adventure with. Did I mention I am scuba certified?
Need a date for that awkward event that you totally don't have anyone to take.
Or simply if you like to laugh and are looking for a fun guy to put a smile on your face.
