My self-summary
I'm seeking a long-term monogamous relationship with a smart, nice guy who lives in SF or on the Peninsula as far south as Belmont - a non-smoker between the ages of 48 and 59.

I enjoy hanging out with my family, movies (especially old ones), comedy, all kinds of music and museums and exploring the Bay Area. I'm not a cutting-edge, Ivy League, petite, professional, sexy, wine-drinking rock-climber. I like to play Scrabble and trivia games. I appreciate the beauty of nature, but I'm not a backpacker or a camper. I exercise, but I'm not athletic. I think Stephen Colbert might be a genius. I'm 5'8" tall, 167. I love being an aunt, but I don't want to be a mother. I'm not ambitious (career-wise) or materialistic. I'm allergic to cats and I don't ride motorcycles (sorry).

It's not for me to say if I'm smart or funny. All I can say is that I'm satisfied with how smart and funny my friends think I am. ;) I'm shy, but as I get to know you and you get to know me, you'll find that I have a lot of love to give and I want to feel loved in return. I pay my own way and stand on my own two feet, but at the end of the day I'd like to know that there's a shoulder to lean on and welcoming arms reaching out to me. I want to be there for my partner in the same way in a sharing, reciprocal relationship. Money can't buy what I'm looking for: a man of integrity who wants to share what's in his heart, his mind and his soul. I believe love is not found, it's made, and that's why I'm seeking a partner who's not afraid to work through problems. It'd be great to find a relationship that brings out the best in both of us.

I am helpful, considerate, and caring. I'm attracted to men who have manners and who know how to communicate. I don't mind at all if a guy has grey hair, is losing his hair or is bald. Hair loss for most men is inevitable and it doesn't bother me.

"Wishing to be friends is quick work, but friendship is a slow ripening fruit." - Aristotle

“Well, good luck to people that are flippant about their relationships and their responsibility towards their fellow human beings, but people like me and Nora, we spend the time and take the effort to understand each other. Then it becomes a life’s work in progress. And for my way of living, that’s how it want it to be. I don’t take commitments lightly. I don’t treat fellow human beings as tools of my trade. So there you go, I’m a loyalist at heart." - On being with his wife for almost 40 years, John Lydon - a.k.a. Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols.
What I’m doing with my life
Just living it and enjoying what comes my way.

I don't have a Grand Scheme in mind for my life. I've lived in SF for 30 years. Maybe five or ten years from now, I'll move from SF to the upper Peninsula. Or maybe I won't.

I have an office job in SF.

Places where I've had beautiful experiences include Honokeana Cove on Maui, the bluebell forest (Hallerbos) in Belgium, the Musee d'Orsay, Monet's garden in Giverny and MOMA in NYC.

One thing I'd really like to do is see the Northern Lights. I don't know when I'll take that trip, just that I definitely will at some point.
I’m really good at
Parallel parking. Song lyrics of the 70s. Crossword puzzles.
The first things people usually notice about me
That’s for other people to say.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Last year I saw the best show ever: Borgen. Highly recommended.

I love old movies. If it's in black and white, I'll probably enjoy it.

The best comedy troupe in SF is: Killing My Lobster. Weird name, funny shows.

Highly recommended: Matisse/Diebenkorn at SFMOMA.
