My self-summary
I'm a pretty typical adventurer. Completing the Three Peaks Challenge, trekking the Laugavegur trail in Iceland, training kung-fu in China, nearly being shot at in Niagara Falls, eating matcha ice cream in Tokyo...Michael Palin eat your heart out.
What I’m doing with my life
Civil Service statistician analyst by day, training to be a martial arts instructor at night. See some 'action' shots of me here:

Other than that I enjoy trying out new things. I can say I reached Level 1 of ice-skating training (balancing for 5 whole minutes), Level 2 hopes were dashed by a minor 3 month leg injury. The rather fetching hospital plastic boot is sadly a thing of the past.

I love travel and have been to Hong Kong, Tokyo, Iceland, Beijing, and East Coast America - all awesome, with friendly people and lots of food!! Next is possibly South Korea and San Francisco (although we'll see how the Trump years go...)
I’m really good at
Settling the nerves of others when karaoking- not sure why!
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm told that I'm loud and friendly.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
The Slight Edge
The Count of Monte Cristo – the tale of revenge is amazing, but loooonnng.
The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle – one of the reasons why I enjoy Japanese culture.

Films:
The Empire Strikes Back – if you like any other Stars Wars film more, you are wrong.
Laputa – hard to pick a Studio Ghibli favourite but I love adventure and this has it in spades. Kinda like Indiana Jones for kids (adults?)
La La Land - great for January!

TV:
Westworld – Crazy robot cowboys/cowgirls with Game of Thrones budget, can there be too much of a good thing?
The Night Manager – Had that nice John le Carre/James Bond vibe about it.
Stranger Things – a guilty pleasure full of 1980s references.

Food - Pizza or chinese is awesome.
The six things I could never do without
Friends

Family

Martial arts

Cinema – love the ''''''IMAX”''''' experience but enjoy oldies at the BFI or Prince Charles Cinema too.

Hiking

I spend a lot of time thinking about
The next crazy thing that I can add to my skillset. 'Dive in the water without making a massive splash and upsetting all the kids parents'. 'Break a brick without causing permanent physical and mental embarrassment'. 'How to use Snapchat'.
On a typical Friday night I am
Planning my weekend! I love to fill up my weekends with random things including walks/hikes, a bit of random culture (enjoyed the 60s exhibition at the V&A recently), the latest big movie and the occasional 'big night out'
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am not going to be an olympic level ice-skater and it still gives me sleepless nights.
You should message me if
You have a strong sense of adventure! There's a big world to explore, and it would be awesome to have a partner in crime to explore it.
