My self-summary
I enjoy traveling, photography, hiking, biking, rock-climbing, camping, spending time with family and friends, going to the movies, reading, knitting, acting and directing plays, volunteering, and snuggling with my dogs.

I'm interested in meeting new people, seeing new places, trying new things, and having some new adventures. I am in a long-term, happy, and committed relationship, so I am *ONLY* looking for new friends.
What I’m doing with my life
I teach high school. I also taught middle school and worked for the Corporate Man for a few years. I'm well-rounded, what can I say?
I’m really good at
bringing joy and sunshine into the lives of others. And knitting. Okay, so I'm not really good at that yet, but I am learning! I just taught myself and have been making scarves. I think I need to get out more. ;) I'm also trying to learn how to use my camera so that I can take good pictures all the time, not just accidentally!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
What you'll find on my iPod: the Pixies, the Breeders, Kristin Hersh, Johnny Cash, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, PJ Harvey, Cake, Jane's Addiction, Radiohead, U2, Possessed by Paul James, Man Man, Belly, Gogol Bordello, Bjork, Frank Black, Fugazi, Liz Phair, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Paul Simon, Portishead, REM, Throwing Muses, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Tom Petty

What you might find in my DVD player: something random from my Netflix queue, old black and white Twilight Zone episodes, The Princess Bride, Juno, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, 300, Braveheart, Gladiator, Nightmare Before Christmas, Moulin Rouge, Say Anything, the Evil Dead movies, the Indiana Jones movies, Chicago, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, So I Married an Axe Murderer, Bella

What you might catch me reading in my armchair on a lazy Sunday afternoon: whatever I randomly found while wandering through Half Price Books or Barnes and Noble, or re-reading old favorites like The Time Traveler's Wife, Stephen King short stories, Piers Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality series, Harry Potter, Geek Love, historical fiction, books by Mary Roach, Mental Floss, Cosmopolitan (mental junk food!)
On a typical Friday night I am
hanging out with friends, going out to eat, going to the movies, staying home to relax and rest up from a long week, reading, watching a DVD, sitting in my favorite armchair and knitting... hard to say, really. Could be any combination of those things!
You should message me if
you're looking to make a new platonic friend. Not friends with benefits. Not friends hoping to lead to a relationship. Just friends.
