My self-summary
TV dinners don't heat up until I am ready to watch TV.
The book "I am OK, You're OK" is a biography of my childhood.
Squirrels remember when they look at me.
Hair dressers never tell my secrets, but they tell me yours.
Tiger Woods is my caddy.
Raindrops never fall on my head.
The guy in the Dos Equis commercials read the book "I am OK, You're OK".

Looking for a woman who appreciates fun, outdoors, travel, all kinds of food and ethnicities. Bigots need not apply. Higher your IQ, the better. But if you cannot laugh at yourself and with others, don't bother with me. Suggestions for hobbies (realistic ones) appreciated. No hobbies, unless you count the one where I go to UIC library or the Regenstein to do research for history articles and a book. Wow! I am sure you would be excited to tag along. Other interests include seeing indie pop/rock acts before they become too big. I saw Sufjan Stevens before he got big. Now his tickets sell faster than Britney Spears loses fans. I still have never been to a Pearl Jam concert. Never could get tickets. I also recently discovered I cannot do Swing dancing. I can do Salsa, but Swing? Something about that herky-jerkey rhythm. So, if you can cross your eyes, wave at people you don't know while driving around town, teach your nephew or niece that winter boots are made for stomping in puddles, and you're willing to "fake it" on the dance floor, send me a message.

I am humorous and willing to dance.
I am highly allergic to cats.
What I’m doing with my life
My job could bore Christ off the cross. To keep me sane, I am working on a history book--no, not the kind you would find at Borders or Barbara's. The kind of history book only historians read. Hey, comics learn from comics; historians from historians.
I’m really good at
Sarcasm, dry humor (very, very arid--the kind that makes you really thirsty).
The first things people usually notice about me
I am afraid to ask
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I listen to music you typically don't find on WXRT: Menomena, Broken Social Scene, Feist, Sufjan Stevens, ...And You Will Know Us From The Trail of Dead, The Dismemberment Plan (now they are sadly dismembered--obviously their plan worked), TV on the Radio, Radiohead, Deathcab for Cutie (a guilty pleasure), The Veils, and The Marble Index, The Mars Volta, to name some.
The six things I could never do without
Music
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I'll plead the 5th--I don't want to incriminate myself.
