My self-summary
If I read one more of these things that starts of with some one talking about how laid back, easy going, or down to earth they are, I'm going to scream. Also, I've decided that being "normal" and "simple" just won't do. I'm working towards being complicated and weird as fuck.

Don't get me wrong, I'm pretty even-keeled. Most of the time. And I want to reclaim the word "nice." It's a good thing, ok?

But there are also times to be passionate, and emotional, and moody. Times to get caught up in dreams, and times to be relentlessly practical. And maybe times to be artsy, intellectual, pretentious, sarcastic, kinky, or thoughtful, or all of those rolled up into one.

Other things to think about: craft beer, cardigans, local theater, world cuisine, boutique liquor, non-baggy jeans, thoughtful conversation, NPR, long walks, and dark chocolate.
What I’m doing with my life
I’m really good at
Trivial Pursuit. Making quiche, omelets, grilled cheese sandwiches. Basically anything involving cheese and/or eggs. Listening. Sorting things, like laundry and recycling. Oh, and alphabetizing. I got that down.
The first things people usually notice about me
My serious demeanor, followed quickly by my ever-ready laugh. :-P
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read a lot, mostly for entertainment. I like it better than watching TV! Things like... sappy m/m romance, historical fiction, high fantasy, mysteries, coming-of-age novels, lots more...

I like my movies to have a nice blend of art house drama and shit blowing up.

Don't watch much TV. Do cooking shows on PBS count? How about British panel shows illegally uploaded to YouTube?

MUSIC! Too much shit to list here. Just go to http://www.last.fm/user/ian_unbearable if you're interested.

As for food... I can be a food snob one minute, then get down with some Cheetos the next. Love cooking and learning how to make new stuff, and I'm pretty good at it, too. Going out to eat? I normally head for Indian, Thai, Chinese or Vietnamese.
Six things I could never do without
In no particular order: a music player of some kind, at least one good book, red wine, comfortable shoes, electric lighting for those night-owl evenings, the company of good friends.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
- what am I going to eat next?
- how are we as a country going to solve the problems of slowed recovery and ineffectual governance caused by the sharp and acrimonious partisan divide that is indicative of a great cultural divide in our society?
- do these jeans make my ass look good?

Oh, and sex.
On a typical Friday night I am
out at some kind of show, a play or some local band or something, or some kind of party. Or playing board games with friends at a bar or someone's else. Or hosting people for snacks, drinks, and group watching of silly movies or dorky TV shows. What's "typical" mean again?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
When drunk, I become a master of sexual innuendo and I like it that way.
You should message me if
You want to go out or something? Shows, movies, plays, coffee, drinks, food, whatever! Oh, and I'm pretty easy to talk to, or at least, so I've been told, so if you'd just like to chat, that's ok, too!
