My self-summary
Ok, cupid, I’m giving this another go…

I’m gonna keep this short and sweet because, well I am short (always) and sweet (most of the time)… and yes, I said “gonna” and I also say “wanna” and occasionally “hella” because I’m proud of my bay area roots.

I’m a very visual person, so please spare me the weeks of flirtatious banter back and forth... if you think we’d click, then go ahead and ask me out… that is why I’m here. I’m really not looking for a pen pal, sorry.
What I’m doing with my life
I’m trying to balance work-life with life-life. I’m a K-8 art teacher, so working unpaid extra hours and buying supplies with my own money is practically part of the job description. But that job description also includes summers off so yay for that.

I'm attempting to keep up with my own art. I tend to go a little crazy if I don't have a creative outlet. I've been taking art classes at city college, it's nice to be a student too sometimes... plus the units will help bump up my salary. Win!
I’m really good at
befriending stray animals, sleeping in past noon, making cookies, procrastinating, finding waldo, remembering 500 students’ names but forgetting yours within 10 seconds of meeting...
The first things people usually notice about me
i dunno... probably that i don't look much older than my students... the middle school students, not the elementary... although there are a few 4th graders that are my height... what are they feeding these kids?!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
i'm an artist first... some of my favorites are gustav klimt, egon shiele, janine antoni, blu, paul klee, max beckmann, andy warhol, eric carle, marc chagall, mark dion, alexander calder...

books... the tao of pooh, asher lev, the grouchy ladybug, brave new world, the curious case of the dog in the nighttime, children of men, art for life, where the sidewalk ends... i also have a lot of art books... i'm much more of a picture person than a word person.

movies... fantasia, donnie darko, zoolander, a waking life, across the universe, idiocracy, clueless, romi & michelle's high school reunion, anything miyazaki does...

shows... i don’t have cable, but i watch a fair amount of tv on my computer... mad men, spongebob, south park, art21, nova, project runway (yeah, i am a girl), csi miami, dexter (what is it about crime shows set in miami?), just started watching game of thrones (the plot still totally confuses me but there's a lot of muscly men to look at)

music... interpol, tapes n tapes, tv on the radio, yeah yeah yeahs, queens of the stone age, modest mouse, the beatles, beethoven, the clash, hot chip, crystal castles, friendly fires, arcade fire, radiohead, animal collective, bowie, beck, outkast, t.i...

food... chocolate, thai food, cereal, burritos, avocados, cheese, sushi, mangoes, chocolate, cookies... and chocolate. I recently went gluten-free for health reasons… it’s not fun.
The six things I could never do without
trees... dirt... water... the sun... my hands... my eyes...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
art I would like to make... art I would like my students to make... what country I want to travel to next... what it would be like to live in an ant hill... why our little finger is called a pinkie... how to spell pinky... is it pinkie or pinky?
On a typical Friday night I am
being atypical?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
i still buy clothes in the junior's department.
You should message me if
well you've read this far... you might as well.
