I am not: a writer, obsessive, a runner, or a toy
A quote to live by: "Life is not a journey to the grave with intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body. But rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming... "Wow - What a ride!""
The following was written by my close friend (somewhat weirdly in first person):
I’m living in the moment without regrets or hesitations. Life is too short!
I’m comfortable on my own, but it would be nice to be in the moment with someone. A friend or a partner? We can work that out later.
I’m active on all fronts. I have a very rewarding and satisfying career in biotech and covered a lot of territory in the industry, from lab to office, and points in between. I enjoy intellectual conversations on most subjects and being an international born which provides me with some unique perspectives on society, politics, and much more.
I satisfy my artistic side with photography and dance -- my biggest passion, Argentine Tango, but always up for salsa too. I enjoy the outdoors - scuba, hiking, skiing to name a few. I really like sharing these experiences with others, but No road races please. (In fact, running in general is not on my list at all).
I travel a lot for fun. I’ve covered a good portion of the globe, but there is still a lot more. I hope to need extra pages in my current passport. Want to come along?
Of course, I enjoy quiet times too. Who doesn’t? Is there anything sweeter than silent communication?
Movies... depending on the mood, I might go for most anything by Mel Brooks to something like Lock Stock and two Smoking Barrels. All time favorites include "Scent of a Woman", "Chocolat", "The Graduate", "Devil's Advocate", "Indiana Jones", "Wag the Dog", "Some like it hot".
Music... Classical, rock, blues, jazz, tango (both classical and neo), most anything but rap, well... maybe even rap sometimes. :)
Food favorites: sushi, ethiopian, vietnamese. And I'm all about trying new things.
A Nook, a new destination, swimming holes, friends & family, tea, sunlight
Where I'd like to travel next. Weirdly enough, since I decided that my next destination should be Greece (islands), I ended up in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Israel, Jordan, Russia, Iceland, Fiji and Caymans, South of Spain. Heading to Belize in April. Still hoping to make it to Greek islands.
Update: if the issue of the day today is transgender bathrooms, I'm trying to imagine what we would be thinking about in 30 years :)
Update: it turns out that I do! Still haven't bothered to use it :)
- You can formulate a greeting beyond "Nice legs", "Hi", etc
- you like to dance, or are willing to learn
- it's in your bones that you always have to be heading somewhere
