My self-summary
As the middle child of 5, am either the glue that holds us together or the nudge that says what no one will say and that pulls us apart. That being said, my 3 sisters and one brother are the most important people in my life. I also have some very good friends who teach me to be a better person and who are my surrogate family.
What I’m doing with my life
I live in Philly, work in the city and use my bike to get around. In the summer I spend time in my community garden, my backyard and just doing stuff. In the winter I spend more time at home often times reading a good book or just hanging out. During all seasons I try and go to the gym 3-4 times a week.

I wish I could say that I am saving the world, but I am not. On the other hand I think I can say that I make a difference in people's lives both at work and at play.

I am lucky enough to get to travel, both domestically and internationally , as part of my job and try to also get away at least once a year to somewhere new.

My all time best trips include an 8 day safari as well as hiking Kilimanjaro. That said, am always happy to go to France or Italy just to enjoy the scenery and the food!
I’m really good at
Making people smile and feel special. Once I am your friend I am your friend for life.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have a lot of energy and have lots of opinions. I can be sarcastic but am always open minded.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
All food is good-- but at the moment am into just about any roasted vegetable you can name.

I like most movies but am not the biggest fan of blood and guts since I have to put my hands over my eyes.

Books-- like to read them and like to read a range of things. Read the Hunger Games series, the Dragon Tattoo series, read Suite Francaise, read Freedom by Jonathan Franzen, will read the new Stephanie Plum novel when it comes out, was into Steinbeck for a few months. Can't say I have a favorite book or favorite author, I just read what grabs me.
Six things I could never do without
Hate to say it but the computer and phone are on the list. My bike is on the list as well.
Can't say there is much else that I couldn't do without but would be sad not to have my garden, my favorite thrift stores and the vietnamese restaurant on the corner.
I guess I have to add my passport as if I don't leave the country at least once a year something is amiss.
Oh and yes, my friends and family are super important to me, but I think I already said that.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think about politics-- and I am left leaning so think about how we got into this mess and how we get out of it. Why are we so short sighted and so unwilling to help others?

Lately I have been spending time thinking about milestones and how to make the most of every day. Watching my mother age has hit home and has made me more determined to take advantage of every day and every opportunity.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either with friends or so happy to have a night in after a long week that I am just hanging out at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Not willing to admit much on this forum but in person all bets are off.
You should message me if
You are intellectually stimulating, left leaning, energetic, independent.
My thinking is if you are on this site you are looking for new friends-- so what does a cup of coffee really cost you? Maybe an hour of your time and a couple bucks.
