For a little history, I grew up in NJ and went to Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. I graduated in 2008 and moved to NYC a few years ago.
When I'm not working, I enjoy hanging out with friends, going out on weekends, trying out new things, and exploring the city to see what it has has to offer. I've tried some new activities such as kickboxing, yoga, and qi gong, which is a type of Chinese meditation. Qi gong was alright but I have a lot of fun with yoga and kickboxing.
I have a fun time exploring the city, finding new things and seeing what's around. I found one of my favorite cookie places (Schmakary's) that way. I always enjoy going to the movies and I'm a fan of multiple genres, especially comedy, action, and good horror movies. I've been to the Museum of Natural History, the MET, the Museum of the Moving Image and several other museums. My favorite so far has been the Museum of the Moving Image. I like interactive exhibits.
I enjoy walking in Central Park, especially around the duck pond, and always hope to spot a turtle or one of the large fish that live there. The Central Park Zoo is a lot of fun, especially the seals and the very elusive snow leopard. I also enjoy walking the High Line and, though it is not a park exactly, I like going to Roosevelt Island. Any excuse to ride a tram is a good one. I also like to walk along the East River, since I live around there, and take in the amazing sight of Queens across the river (ok, it's really not that amazing but the river front is nice).
There would be too many restaurants to name, but some of favorite places to eat have been in Chinatown, Little Italy, the East Village, the UWS and Hell's Kitchen.
As for traveling outside of the city, I've traveled a little bit both nationally and internationally. I went to Israel a few years ago and Turks and Caicos before that. I've also been to California twice now. The first time I visited I went to Los Angeles and San Francisco the second time. I want to go back again and visit San Diego next, or more of the area north of San Francisco. I like traveling, just not necessarily the plane ride to get there. My next goal is to go on a cruise or fly somewhere new.
In my free time I like exploring around the city, enjoying what's around, and taking in the sights. I also like to help out in my community by donating blood and platelets when I have extra time. It's not the most fun activity but I like knowing I can help people in this way.
Unless this question means what people first notice about me in person. I guess my face (again), since that way they recognize me and don't mistake me for a stranger. I'd imagine that would be awkward.
