My self-summary
I'm currently working on a masters degree while working full time. That takes up a lot of my time.

I like solving challenging problems, I enjoy moving around. I suppose I like traveling, but I tend to find most vacations to interesting places too short, but that doesn't keep me from going.
I’m really good at
While I'm not really good at it, I really enjoy brewing my own beer. It's a fun hobby. Taking grain, hops, water and adding some microscopic organisms and two weeks later, beer. There's also nothing quite like enjoying a beer that I created. It's kind of like enjoying an awesome home cooked meal, but with beer!

I am really good at coding, and (including work) at any given point I’m working on some software. I find it really fulfilling to build things out of text and have it accomplish something real.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have a tatoo on the top of my right wrist. It's a caduceus with the words "Situs Inversus Totalis" written underneath it. (This begins the most private thing I'm willing to admit too!). I have a weird medical condition. My organs are mirror imaged relative to 99.99% of the population. I truly wear it on my sleeve. Hopefully any doctor looking to find some internal bleeding will notice it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I tend to read books in bursts, I'll read non-stop for a couple of months, and then not pick up a book for a couple more. If I'm reading fiction it's generally some kind of science fiction. An incomplete list of some authors I like includes Robert Heinlein, Philip K. Dick, Isaac Asimov and Kurt Vonnegut. I also like non-fiction specifically dealing with science and the history of science, but I tend to listen to audiobooks on that more than actually read.

For music I tend to just point Pandora at new artists as they come up on other stations. My music tastes tend to be all over the place.

I like a bunch of TV shows. Archer, Sherlock, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The West Wing, and House of Cards are some of my favorites.

My favorite food is just about any kind of seafood, but living in Arizona I've been overall somewhat disappointed in that regard. I really like Thai and Indian food too.

I don't really watch that many movies, occasionally I'll watch something on Netflix, so I don't really have any favorites.

I also love podcasts. Lately my favorites are Futility Closet, and No Such Thing As a Fish.
Six things I could never do without
I don't think I could do with out a lot of modern conveniences. Instant communication with anyone in the world, and instant access to just about any piece of information I could want. I use both of these things daily and it's just awesome to me. I guess I could do without them, but it would be such a change to my daily life that it would be strange.

NPR is pretty awesome. I basically always listen to it in the car, and I really enjoy the content. (Note: I started biking to work, so I lost my daily easy NPR news fix. I still listen to NPR a lot, but I've been having to take time out of my day to listen to it, so I feel like I'm less informed about the world.)

I need something to work my brain. Finding good solutions to difficult problems is something I really like to do. I find it very fulfilling, if I couldn't do that I think I'd have problems making it through life.

I'm having trouble thinking of other things, so I guess physiological needs, safety, love and belonging.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Math, and cooking.
On a typical Friday night I am
I like to go out somewhere to unwind while drinking a good beer.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have an interesting medical condition called Situs Inversus. My organs are a mirror image relative to most other people. It doesn't cause any issues, but since it involves my internal organs it is fairly private. Although I do have it tattooed on my wrist so maybe it's not that private.
You should message me if
You think we’d get along.
