What I’m doing with my life
Union organizer. New(ish?) to LA. I like it here - I'm into neighborhood exploration, food adventures, and hikes. I'm a native Chicagoan who has spent 4 years in Minnesota and 3 in Brooklyn.
I’m really good at
Getting people to talk to me/listening. Instigating dance parties. Eavesdropping on the train. Coordinating things. Navigating. Making spaces feel homey. Going on vacation.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Listing favorites makes me feel a lot of pressure! But here are some things I really like to read, watch, listen to, and eat in no particular order (you'll know whether each one is a book, author, movie, show, band, or food, right?):

BROAD CITY, Chance The Rapper, Virginia Woolf (especially A Room of One's Own), Parks and Recreation, The Wire, Maria Bamford, articles on the Internet, Freaks and Geeks, The Pixies, Kid Cudi, Neko Case, Lil Wayne, Friday Night Lights, cheese, James Baldwin, Animal Collective, In The Cut, riveting non fiction, pickles, The Rolling Stones, David Foster Wallace (essays!), Deadwood, The Talking Heads, NPR, ramen, tacos from Guisado's, Barefoot in the Park (Jane Fonda holla!).
Six things I could never do without
coffee and public radio in the mornings
time to myself
weekends away
cooking for others/dinner parties (is that 2 things?)
surprisingly, yoga
On a typical Friday night I am
Drinking whiskey or cooking at home or watching a movie or dancing. It's a Friday evening right now and I'm doing this.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Hm. I still watch Grey's Anatomy?
