What I’m doing with my life
I'm new to KC, so I've been exploring the area to see everything it has to offer. I'm a geologist, so I spend my days doing nerdy things with water, soil, and rocks. I've also just gotten back into karate. I spent four years studying when I was a teenager, but had to quit when I went to college. I just found an awesome dojo out here, and it feels so great to be back!
I’m really good at
Photography
Singing
Knitting hats
Staring up at the stars
Roasting a mean marshmallow

- I'm trying to be good at:
Playing the guitar
Fishing
The first things people usually notice about me
I've been told my eyes and my smile...or the birthmark in my left eye
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: The Abyss, The Giver, Wild

Movies: I love all sorts of movies, but here are some of my favorites: Apollo 13, Contact, Tommy Boy, Dumb and Dumber, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Princess Bride, Willow, The Labyrinth, Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

TV (random sampling): Walking Dead, Orphan Black, HIMYM

Music: Mostly everything, except for screamy/heavy metal. Rap is pretty low on the list too. My favorite bands of all time are Bon Jovi and Journey, but my newest favorites are Walk Off The Earth and Brandi Carlile. Lately I've been leaning toward music that's more mellow (more singer/songwriter or folk-type genres).

Food: Chicago style pizza (both thin crust and deep dish), a good steak, sushi (or most anything Japanese), and anything smoked...especially salmon!
The six things I could never do without
- Family/friends
- my pets (a dog and a cockatiel)
- adventures
- nature
- music
- marshmallows, a stick, and a campfire (these obviously count as one item)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Rocks. Just kidding! But not really 😋
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably exploring, since I'm new to town
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
...you'll just have to ask!
