My self-summary
i love nature and the woods most of all. two years in a row, spent two weeks alone (with my dog) in a cabin in the adirondacks, hiking every day, reading, writing poetry and playing my guitar.
i was very, very happy.
one summer i hit every state/national forest i could on a cross-country road trip
i'm kind, articulate, gentle, creative, and spontaneous, looking for the first two especially in a man.
want to expand out into the world as much as i can before i die. want a partner to do this with me.
sorta hindu/buddhist,i practice meditation regularly as possible, sometimes one kind sometimes another. i'm a cynical mystic (or a mystical cynic)
i'm pretty, not beautiful, but pretty. cute is what people say.
i have three cats and a dog who i love. i would have a ferret but they're illegal in nyc. i want one because i love their little hands and their small pink tongues when they yawn
4 days a week i'm a therapist and 3 days i spend writing poetry well and playing guitar passably (depending on the passing grade).
unless something else intervenes. like life.
once i got a BFA in jazz performance as a vocalist.
i'm honest, loyal and true, though they wouldn't let me in the boy scouts, which made me mad, since the girl scouts in queens didn't do anything good
i am disappointed in our president, even though i tried not to get my hopes up.
i hate big corporations and ayn rand.
at the same time i believe in compassion for all living things.
life is paradox.
What I’m doing with my life
see above
I’m really good at
listening to people when they're upset, celebrating with them when they're happy
The first things people usually notice about me
depends on the day and the person.

ask them.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
i like novels with perfectly balanced sentences that say surprising things, and poetry that is also surprising.

i like walt whitman and edna st. vincent millay and some slam poets and a bunch of poets you never heard of.

i love jazz, from bebop on, but not frank sinatra, blues (esp. chicago blues), motown....

i like food.

lately i watch too much t.v. (a phase. i'm sure it's a phase).... i like zombie movies. i like independent film. watch a lot of sundance channel and linktv, but also like "the walking dead" on amc. sorry.
i like old films in black and white with good dead actors.
Six things I could never do without
(1)my dog

(2)my cats

(3)my friends

(5)parks woods

(6)the city?.

six, huh? six... then, again.... what can't i do without? it would be hard not to have a place to live, or water.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
life, and why?
On a typical Friday night I am
no typical, these days.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
i refuse to admit to that
You should message me if
you're a gentle, warm, smart person somewhere around my age who is funny, or at least laughs at my jokes

someone to:

swap favorite novels,

crack jokes,

hang around with my dog (& three cats),

wander around foreign cities,

wander around familiar cities,

wander around the inside of each others' heads,

and maybe later, each others' bodies,

who's patient, encouraging, just generally nice.

The two of us
