My self-summary
Okay. Finally rewriting this. I keep putting it off and putting it off, and it's like "hey don't you want people to get some small taste of your personality without all the effort of actually talking to you?" And honestly the answer is no but we all know that we judge each other based on how we choose to represent ourselves, however that may manifest. That's partly why if your main picture isn't you, or you're doing/wearing something bizarre, you might not hear from me. Just saying.

Before I launch into shameless self promotion, please hit me up if you like/play MtG and have enough patience to be willing to play with pretty much a beginner. I have hella cards from when I was in undergrad and now nobody to play with. My mono green is my pride and joy, though I'm starting to think it has too many elves... XD

I talk a lot. Like, a lot. I am a total open book; all my thoughts are on the table at all times. Aside from that just being my natural instinct, I also find that it reduces stress in my day to day life. I don't have to worry about what I told to whom, or who knows what, etc. I strive to be as emotionally honest and available as much as I possibly can. The frustrating thing is, I have yet to meet anybody that lives the same way. Whose dumb idea was it to romanticize the cold and aloof thing? Because it sucks. It's a cold, cold world out there for a bleeding heart.

Like I'd said, I tend to go on.

Also, just as a heads up, my name isn't Jen. I am beginning to regret choosing this username, but I don't want to give this site my hard earned dollars to change it. Those dollars have more urgent places to go, y'know?

Oh, lastly, I'm fairly firm on my age range. I just don't feel comfortable engaging with somebody significantly younger or older than me, especially if you're 10+ years older than me. I'm sorry if that offends you, but honestly if it does then you're probably too old or young for me anyway. I need a contemporary, maaaan.
What I’m doing with my life
I graduated from a liberal arts school in Tacoma with a double-major in Philosophy and Studio Art. Now I'm working at an art supply and framing place while working on a Digital Design certificate at a technical college nearby. I'm shooting for the end of Fall quarter to finish up, but that's contingent on finding an internship. Gotta have one to graduate, and man am I tired of school.
I’m really good at
Making those sorts of plans to do something sometime and always talking about it whenever you see that person, but never actually doing it. Describing things in really weird but totally accurate ways. Collecting blankets/pillows on my already overstuffed bed. Eating odd things for breakfast. Picking out presents for people.

Clicking on and liking people's profiles on here but never messaging them, despite telling myself "hey, you should message them." Eventually messaging people and then not getting an answer.

This one time I responded to my own message, mistakenly believing they had sent it to me. It was an awkward situation.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my hair, honestly. That, and if I've decided to get all dressed up I'll either be wearing shitkicker boots or something with a heel.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
None of these are in any order, and by no means an all-inclusive list.

-The Gospel According to Larry (it's not what you think it is)
-Looking for Alaska
(To be honest when I read it tends to be how-to books rather than novels. Don't hold it against me.)

-Rock of Ages
-Oceans 11, 12, & 13
-The Sting
-Spirited Away (and most other Miyazaki)

-Arrested Development

Music is too complicated to try and list for the moment. I'll come back to this.

Food (I'm going for categories here):
-Anything with potatoes (because, let's face it, they're delicious.)
-Pizza (but I mean, who doesn't like pizza?)
The six things I could never do without
In no particular order:
1) Color
2) A creative outlet
3) Yummy food
4) My phone, or other means of contact
5) My dog
6) Cold water
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Random things, mostly. Some philosophical, others nonsensical. Like, who decided that pink was the color bubblegum should be? Who names the random little parts of things like the plastic on the ends of shoelaces or the metal bits on pencils, and how can I get that job? Why do some sounds require two letters to spell them; why can't they just get their own letter? Ultimately, what is the point of freedom? How am I aware of my awareness? If you also think like this, or have an answer to any of these questions, we should chat.

I'm also considering spending my tax return on my first tattoo. Not 100% sold on it, but I have an idea of what I'd like to get and an artist whose style I admire, so who knows. UPDATE: return wasn't enough, now I just have to save my pennies until I've got enough dough. Probably want to start small before I drop too much money on a big piece. Plus, it'd be good to know my pain tolerance. Piercings thus far I've handled with decorum, but I suspect tattoos will be a different beast.
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing homework, if nothing better is on offer. Otherwise, whatever happens to suit my fancy.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I scare really easily. It's why I can't do horror movies. I'll be jumpy and nervous for hours afterwards. No, it isn't cute, and no, I don't care if you offer to protect me. It'll fuck me up. Let's watch a spy movie or something instead.
You should message me if
You like people who laugh a lot. Like, a lot. Or if you think my blue hair is cool. Maybe you like staring at the stars and feeling small or staring at the grass and feeling big. Tell me the coolest place you've ever been or the best sensation you've ever felt or the last time you felt completely alive. Show me you have something to say, I dare you.

Plus, to be totally honest, I ignore messages that just say "Hi" or "Hello," etc. Folks that send that are casting a broad but shallow net, and it shows a marked lack of real interest in the people who receive them. Put a little effort in, and I'll do the same.

Also, send me your favorite/least favorite/weirdest OkC question and why. There are some pretty odd ones out there.
