My self-summary
Lately, self and home improvement have been my dominant goals. I love what I do professionally and am really lucky in that regard. Philly is home, though I daydream about spending large portions of the year abroad.

I get intrigued by a lot of things and gravitate toward people who are thoughtful and inquisitive.

Update: I just filled my dishwasher with Tang. Apparently that's a thing to do.

Update Update: My dishwasher works way better now. Thanks internet!
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a software developer that's lucky enough to work from home. Lately I've been trying to figure out how to perfect cold brewing coffee, cause you know, coffee is important. In my spare time I like to catch up with friends over food and drinks.

I've been a homeowner for a long time but never really mastered owning the space. I'm rededicating myself to that goal this year and will probably spend entirely too much time looking at Pinterest for things like "how to layout art on a wall" and "relaxing balcony reading space."
I’m really good at
Getting work done at a cafe.
Thinking about riding my bike more.
Bargaining with myself about pancakes.
Petting a cat *and* watching TV. You know, multitasking.
The first things people usually notice about me
Red hair.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I sort of hate this section because I'm bound to leave things out and am terrible with favorites. But here goes...

I'm currently reading 1Q84 and have been enjoying Murakami. I've yet to identify what draws me to an author, but it has a lot more to do with the way they write than the subject matter. Eggers and Vonnegut are long time favorites. Up next is Wise Blood by Flannery O'Conner.

Recent Movies: Rogue One, The Arrival, 13th, The Babadook, The Big Short, The Minimalists. I've got a soft spot for good and bad horror.

TV: The Wire, Six Feet Under, Deadwood, GoT, Sherlock, Stranger Things, Bojack, Party Down, Last Week Tonight, Archer, Simpsons, BSG, TWD, West World. I'm currently not sucked into anything and tend to doze off to Star Trek. Solving problems in space is _so_ relaxing.

Music: Metric, m83, Jose Gonzalez, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, alt-J, The Mountain Goats, Electric President, Sigur Ros.

Food: Sushi. I think the best things I've eaten in Philly were at Serpico and Bibou. Pho, tacos, good beer and whiskey are also important. Oh and also pretty much everything breakfast.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Lately it's how I want to spend my work days. I'm trying to figure out how to be productive and relaxed while also taking advantage of the fact that I can make my own hours. Longer term it tends to be things I want to save up for, like trips to visit friends or just places I might want to see.
On a typical Friday night I am
I kinda like to go out on nights when I can hear people talk, so I'm probably at home unwinding or doing something with friends that doesn't involve cramming myself into bro-ville.
You should message me if
You like to talk about stuff and enjoy digging at the whys and hows. You think anything can be interesting and enjoy exploring the world as well as ideas. You value thoughtfulness, understanding people and their differing perspectives, and humor in all forms.

I have a weak spot for tattoos.
