My self-summary
In the space of 5 years, every single atom in your body has been replaced. Enough said.
What I’m doing with my life
Totally figuring out this adult thing. I'm like, NAILING it these days. Mostly.
I’m really good at
So, so many things. I am pretty awesome. Kidding, of course. Well, mostly.

But don't worry, there's plenty I am not so great at too.
The first things people usually notice about me
I am not sure these days. Now I am going to be wondering about this.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I LOVE TO READ. I can't list my favorite books, there are so many and they change all the time. I have irrational loyalty to my books and don't want to hurt their feelings by playing favorites. I read a lot of non fiction. I also tend towards sci fi, historical fiction, and post apocalyptic dystopian type stories.

The best podcast in the world is The Skeptics Guide to the Universe.

Screen time- I really like to watch lecture series. Much more compelling than documentaries. I also like all the normal tv stuff you would probably expect me to.

Music- I will show you my playlist if you show me yours!

food- sriracha hot sauce (practically mandatory), beer, fresh-from-the-dirt carrots, tempeh sandwiches with saurkraut. Chickpeas are my favorite legume. This is important.
Six things I could never do without
Water, dirt, stars, warm blankets, time to myself, my family. Not in that order.

Also internet.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Science based medicine and scientific skepticism in general. Theory of mind and the nature of consciousness. The profundity of reality, which vastly eclipses the platitudes of theism. Martian microbes and Europan jellyfish. Viking settlements in North America. The origins of South American chickens. CRISPR. Lateral gene transfer, especially interspecies. The implications of quantum manifestations at the newtonian level, most especially as they might relate to biological functions. And how did I manage to get through grad school with such crappy math skills. Also, sex.
On a typical Friday night I am
Home with my kiddos and/or extended family. Other appealing options include campfires (but not necessarily camping), cooking elaborate dinners, or a quiet bar and lengthy, ridiculous, wandering conversation.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am bossy and a stick in the mud.

I am an atheist- however this is not private in the slightest.

I work at Planned Parenthood. Also not private.

Extra credit for NOT messaging me to explain that our cells live longer than 5 years, and thus my first statement is incorrect.
