My self-summary
If I were throwing the perfect dinner party, I'd invite Steven Levitt, Tina Fey, Abraham Lincoln, and Kanye West.

The world continues to surprise me, and I firmly believe that truth is stranger than fiction.

Still looking for Boston's equivalent of Chicago-style pizza.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently finishing up my PhD at MIT and then starting a job as a trader. My life goal is to be portrayed by Jeremy Renner in The Big Short 2.

I've been a "big brother" through Big Brothers and Big Sisters for 3 years now, and my "little brother" and his family are a big part of my life in Boston. He cheats at tag and once punched me in the stomach to "test my abs."
I’m really good at
Cards Against Humanity. Dog whispering. Mini-golf. Navigating foreign cities with only a map. Giving directions to strangers. Finding the ideal ironic hashtag for any situation.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music: Rock (Tegan and Sara, The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Replacements); Rap (Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, Lil' Wayne).

Going to the Replacements' reunion show with my Dad was the musical highlight of my life.

Books: I love nonfiction and hilarious memoirs. Some favorites include David McCullough, Nick Hornby, Steven Levitt, Aleksandr Solzhenitsen, and Frank McCourt.

Movies: old favorites include the Bourne movies, Superbad, Airplane, Jerry Maguire, Shawshank Redemption.

TV: Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley, 30 Rock, Parks and Rec, Girls, The Wire, Breaking Bad. Also, cool documentary shows like Cosmos and VICE.

Food: Chicago-style deep-dish pizza. And sushi. I LOVE sushi.
The six things I could never do without
Coffee - I didn't believe caffeine was a drug until I tried to go cold turkey on coffee.

Camera/tripod/other equipment - photography is my creative outlet. I usually do mostly landscapes and cityscapes/architecture, but I've been trying to do more up-close or portrait photography recently. A lot of my best stuff ends up at:

Passport - Currently a massive post-graduation trip to Korea and Europe planned!

Climbing wall - the best way to blow off steam after work.

A progressively larger set of bookshelves - because in spite of my best efforts not to collect stuff, the books keep coming.

Lazy Sunday mornings - with some coffee in my cup and soccer on the TV. Bonus points if you're also a Tottenham fan.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
- Does a person's favorite Game of Thrones character reflect their personality?

- In 2040, when "That 2010s Show" premiers, what quirks of our era will it stereotype? I assume "selfie sticks" and "man buns" will be heavily featured.

- How can I adopt a golden retriever puppy without my landlord finding out?
On a typical Friday night I am
... using my superpowers to rescue kittens trapped in trees.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
In high school I had a job as a pizza delivery guy, so my car smelled incessantly of mediocre Italian food.
You should message me if
... you want to check out the Slumbrew brewery or the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum, because I've been meaning to go to both.
... you want to go to the Lawn on D. I worry I'm the only person in Boston that doesn't have a picture with those cool ring-chairs!
... you want to eat cheap Chinese food while catching live standup at the Comedy Studio.
... you want to go to climbing. Bonus points if you can coach me to the top in spite of my surgically repaired shoulder.
... you know a quaint used bookstore where we can shop 'til we drop.
... you want to show me your favorite photography spot in or around Boston.
... you have a dog I can be best friends with.
... you like throwing dinner parties, and know how I can get into contact with Tina Fey, Steven Levitt, Kanye West, or Abraham Lincoln.
