My self-summary
I moved to RVA from Portland, OR a little over a year ago, but it seems very recent. I still only know like a handful of people and have no idea where a lot of things are. Show me all the things and be my friend.

I'm Nonnie. I grew up in Salem, MA, have lived in Columbia, SC and Portland, OR but now live in Richmond, VA. I play music and like other music and read books and write poetry. I like to screen print, wander around, high five, watch lightning storms and go to house shows. Elephants are my favorite animal. I am undefeated at bananagrams (but to be completely honest, I've only played like 10 times). I'm a far left anarcha-feminist. Into anti-oppression politics. Must hate cops.

When I made this, I didn't realize that the username I picked would be an unchangable display name as it's my given name, not my name. Please don't call me by it.
What I’m doing with my life
I play music and book shows. I just moved across the country. I just bought a bunch of house plants. Like way too many. I like them a lot but I'm scared I might kill them by accident. I still haven't named most of them except for Doug and Spooky Jr. UPDATE: I think two of them might be dead.

I just got a new job working as a bar back at a bar and restaurant. It's actually pretty awesome.

I moved into a new house where we have shows a few months ago, so I'm constantly looking for my new favorite local bands so I can book them here. Input is super appreciated!

I've also lately been working on trying to eliminate ableist language from my vocabulary. I think this is important.
I’m really good at
Impulsive decision making, alphabetizing while stoned, getting food in my beard, telling jokes (and stories), eating all the pasta, and making guacamole.
The first things people usually notice about me
Beard, rat tail, the chaos that is my head hairs.

My pupils are often drastically different sizes from each other. I'm actually a little worried about it.

Lots of local bands. Tell me your favorite local band. I want to check them out.

I hate dubstep.

Food: I'm vegetarian (15 years) and love sandwiches, burritos, pasta, I really like sauces and condiments. I sort of feel like food is just a vessel for its toppings. Avocados are great. So are berries (except cranberries). And banana bread. Chickpeas, too. Brussel sprouts are one of my favorite veggies (they remind me of tiny brains). And broccoli and asparagus make me feel like a dinosaur (I like this).
The six things I could never do without
Bones, skin, blood, spit, brain, sustenance.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How most shit's fucked but some shit is really awesome.

Smashing the state/patriarchy.

Where to go next.

Bad puns.

Good puns.

Mediocre puns.
On a typical Friday night I am
Like most other people here, I work service industry, so I'm usually at work Friday nights. If not, I'm hopefully at a show.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I shed my head hairs and beard hairs everywhere. I'm like glitter.

A lot of the time, if I overhear people laughing, I think they're laughing at me.

I prefer to be little spoon.
You should message me if
Message me if you're inexplicably, but somehow legitimately disappointed that the Doomsday Clock didn't move closer to midnight this year.

You're really cool! Or if you think I might be too.

You hate cops and landlords.

Do not message me if you are racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, classist, ablist, or just generally an asshole.

Ask before adding me on facebook, definitely don't do it before we've actually been talking.

If you message me a single sentence, it better be a really good sentence.

You want to play magic cards or backgammon on the floor while listening to records and eating pizza.

You're really good at healthy, open communication.

You want to go see some awesome band, event or exhibit somewhere.

I like jokes. A lot. Message me jokes. Please?

Don't be boring.
