My self-summary
It's hard to sum yourself up in a paragraph! I'm serious but fun-loving, organised but spontaneous, interested in everything but always happy to have an afternoon nap, calm but nuts. Like most people I'm working hard to earn a living, always thinking about my next holiday and almost always in the mood for chocolate.
What I’m doing with my life
Work is important to me and I try to do my best, but I work to earn money and I want to enjoy life outside of work. I want to travel and see different places - it's a big world out there and I need to get started!
I’m really good at
I'm a bit of a jack of all trades! I enjoy writing and crafting, I can turn my hand to DIY, I'm reasonably good at my job, I can cook up a meal, I'm a good friend... but not sure that I'm 'really' good at anything!! I'm quite organised so I'm good at planning things. I can be focussed so I'm good at getting things done. This sounds very boring, doesn't it. Maybe I'm just really good at being modest!
The first things people usually notice about me
It's hard to know, you'd need to ask the other people. I suppose people would say I'm a bit shy until they get to know me, but then I think they would comment on my slightly dark sense of humour. I don't think there's anything visually striking about me - I hope not, anyway!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My choice of books is quite eclectic - a few classics, autobiographies, non-fiction... I love old books, especially medical ones because it's funny and scarey how wrong we used to get it! I do like my Good Food magazine subscription, although I never cook anything from it. I like receipe books for puddings and cakes, none of this savory nonsense! I'm a sci-fi fan, but I also like comedy films and horror films. I'm an unashamed fan of west end musicals so I love all the show tunes, but I also like lots of pop music, some classical. I'm a child of the 80's so I think that decade produced the best music.
The six things I could never do without
Sounds mushy and predictable but I couldn't live without my family and friends. Probably wouldn't be very happy without work actually because it gives me focus and a sense of achievement. Couldn't live without my showtunes! Wouldn't be happy without coffee, cola and chocolate - can that count as one thing? Two more... I love America and would hate the thought that I could never again be in Vegas or New York or Florida. Lastly... the sun: couldn't live without sunny days in grassy fields, picnics and relaxing on a blanket and ice cream cones.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I'm over-analytical and I think too much about things that have happened, work, worrying about everything! I appreciate someone who can make me laugh and distract me from being so serious. I'm a writer so my head is always filled with some embryonic story or other. I love my holidays and am often daydreaming about the next one.
On a typical Friday night I am
Happily having dinner with friends, or having a cosy night in with a glass of wine, or going for a walk in the summer. I am absolutely not a pub / club kind of person, but I do like going out for meals or to see a show or to the cinema.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That's a great question but I need to give it a bit of thought before I answer!
You should message me if
I'd like to meet someone special, but am also happy to meet new friends or someone to just chat with online. Let's get talking and see if we can make each other laugh and have a good conversation.
