My self-summary
Oh here's goes nothing... It's an amazing thing how a box like this can make me a bit nervous... a bit confined. You will never get me all in this one box, but It will be fun filling it! I am looking for the next step in life, I have been back and forth and know I do my best when I am coupled. My Philosophy is... "don't look for Mr. Right, be him..."
I was born and raised in North Dakota, yeah, that's right... I have seen the movie Fargo and I do slip into a nice little accent from time to time. I went to school in South Florida, have moved all over the USA several times for reasons of adventure and love. I've lived in LA for six years now and I'm ready to turn the pages and write in bold letters the next chapter of my life in this "Choose Your Own Adventure" book I'm living.
What I’m doing with my life
I am living in West Hollywood and love it Here. I am a Registered Nurse at a local hospital. I am looking at going back to school, even though I dread it, I am finally motivated to push myself further!
I’m really good at
I'm good at finding the silver lining in the worst of situations. I can be a smart ass. I am blessed at being able to find a song lyric to correspond with my every waking moment... so it may be a bit of a curse to others. I am a great listener and talker and will stick up for my friends in any situation. I am good at pointing out my own flaws before anyone else can, so I can have the first laugh. I am good at loving life.
The first things people usually notice about me
" who is that guy with no filter?" so my sparkling personality? well, errrr... sometimes it is, honestly... it just is. then they like my smile, my eyes and my sense of humor. Then my great choice in friends... I am blessed!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
*BOOKS* "My Sisters Keeper" , "Middlesex", any of Chelsea Handler's books, "Ramona Quimby Age 8", "Dear John", "Me talk Pretty One Day" "Look Again" that's it for now... but I love when people give me a great book to read.
*MOVIES* Going the Distance, Mary Poppins, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Notebook (I know...), Connie & Carla, Broken Hearts Club, Breakfast at Tiffanys, Sordid Lives, Sliding Doors, Defiance, as well as old westerns, campy gay films and anything I can watch in a backyard on a projector screen.
*MUSIC* I grew up on country music so it has my heart: JoDee Messina, Reba, Tammy Wynette, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley. Then... Paramore, David Gray, Ray LaMontagne, No Doubt, The Script, Kylie, Cher, Debbie Harry (Blondie), Robyn, Miranda Lambert! ... anything mainstream gay, showtunes from time to time even.
*FOOD* I love Greek, Sushi, East Indian,Mexican and Cuban! However my motto lies in saying " I didn't get fat by being picky".
Six things I could never do without
- friends
- health
- sushi
- family
- any food that is orange ie: orange slices
- beach days
I spend a lot of time thinking about
-how lucky I am...
-how blessed I am in love, life and friends.
-how many licks does it take...
-When I will get a chance to go camping?
-when will I find out "How I met your mother"? (I finally got this one!)
On a typical Friday night I am
there is never a typical... I am happy going out with friends, going to dinner or a nice night in with Netflix on my couch. And then some my Friday's are work, sometimes fun... but every day should be celebrated! wow, that was cheesy, but I am keepin' it!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am pretty much an open book. I figure if I was dumb enough to do something I should not be ashamed of it and if I can't tell people then hopefully it will shame me into never doing it again!
You should message me if
- If you can play a musical instrument and sing you win HUGE points and I am insanely jealous!
-in the words of one Miranda Lambert "if you never jump you'll never know if you can fly".
-If you have a good sense of humor, can laugh at yourself, and believe that kindness does matter.
-If you are accountable for your life and not just wondering how to get through it.
