My self-summary
I'm a color outside the lines kind of person. Artist, singer, and gardener by passion and an educator, activist, non-profit consultant by calling. Relationships are central to my life, I try to live my life in a connected way.

I really enjoy food - growing it, cooking it, and experimenting with new recipes.

I can be very silly when I want to and try not to take the crazy turns of life too seriously. I love to make up songs, games, and stories on the spot to entertain my nieces, nephews and friends. My silliness also comes in handy as a member of an improv theater group.

Whenever I can, I get outdoors - hiking, kayaking, swimming, gardening, or just a walk around the nearest pond or park. I enjoy the community feel of living in a city neighborhood, yet getting out into rural and wild spaces is necessary for my general sanity. Any place with less people than wildlife will do; there is something about looking up to see something untame wander by that pulls me up short and brings out wonder and unmitigated joy.

I am looking to meet someone who can be a close friend, partner, and lover. Of course that all has to start with a first date, meeting new people, and getting to do fun things in and around the city together.
What I’m doing with my life
That's a big question. The big answer - trying to navigate the ups and downs with laughter and ease and create meaningful connections along the way.
I’m really good at
Singing, cooking, making new friends, listening to others, growing stuff in my garden, making art, and making my nieces and nephews laugh.
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile I've been told and my laugh -it's pretty loud!

Six things I could never do without
love, music, the ocean, my chef's knife, fresh vegetables, books and the non-things - family and friends of course
I spend a lot of time thinking about
my friends and family, the best way to work with young people so they will recognize their power, claim it, and use it for good, what to plant in my garden and whether okra will grow as well in Philadelphia as it did in Boston (UPDATE - oddly it didn't grow as well though perhaps that's because it was such a rainy summer when I tried.) How to find a jazz piano accompanist with whom I can sing and perform.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with friends making dinner, relaxing
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Ask me when we meet.
You should message me if
You like what I've written and want to have fun, laugh at life, grab a cup of tea or coffee, visit a great museum or go for a hike or walk in one of Philadelphia's many green spaces.
