My self-summary
I'm probably best summed up by the things on my desk. Guitar picks, video camera, twenty-sided dice, a copy of Eunoia (Awkward grammar appals a craftsman. A Dadabard as daft as Tzara damns stagnant art...), a piranha plant Christmas ornament, and a pile of sound and computer gear. And a small mountain of buttons from my charity event.

In short I'm some manner of musical gaming dorky creature. I like old books, karaoke, and talks that go late into the night.

Also, I have a large desk.
What I’m doing with my life
I make things. During the day I do social media and internet things for a local nonprofit, and in my spare time I blog, make videos, write music, volunteer, run a charity event, and tutor a bit.

I remind myself not to blather. If you're particularly curious, I have a website.
I’m really good at
Singing. I love to sing and make music, don't much care what kind.
I'm a pretty good juggler, a passable writer, and I'm good at games in the sense that after many many years I've learned how to lose gracefully.
The first things people usually notice about me
This used to say that the first thing people notice is that I tend to talk to myself, but after consultation, that's not it. The first thing people notice is my energy. I'm usually animated, talking about something, coming up with new ideas, being funny, or just hustling from place to place with a spring in my step.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
After six years of reading analytic philosophy, I'm just beginning to fall in love with fiction again. I love classical novels about the human condition, old school fantasy and the more contemporary urban variety, and hard science fiction. I also love non-fiction books about anything, though lately my preferences run to neuroscience and physics. I also love comics, and devour graphic novels at a ridiculous rate, though I'm a few years behind.

I've watched a lot of movies, but if I had to pick a favourite, I'd have to go with Singing in the Rain. It never gets old. Past that, I like movies that make me feel real feelings, like Up or The Royal Tenenbaums, and movies that mess with my head, like V for Vendetta, Videodrome or Wristcutters.

I don't watch a lot of television, but I really enjoyed Babylon 5 and the West Wing. My favourite show is still probably Bill Nye the Science Guy, though.

Music...I follow a lot of Youtube artists like Nice Peter and George Watsky, because I love getting to know the person as well as the music. My tastes are eclectic, from everything from hip-hop, to metal, to classical. It mostly depends on my mood.
Six things I could never do without
My vital organs. They're vital for a reason, but I'm going to count them as one thing. Food, water, shelter... Friends aren't things, but I could never do without them. Games, and my guitar. Though if I had all the others, I could do without the last two in a pinch.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to pull people together on strange ideas, from Henching for Good, a scheme to bring people together to volunteer where they're needed, to a Conspiracy of Accomplishment, which is a way of getting things done that I'm testing. Or I'm thinking about my next video or blog post, Headshots, ethics, games, stories...It's a list.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either out at an event, like a gallery opening or a talk; at home working on music, writing, charity projects or a video; having dinner or coffee with friends; or unabashedly procrastinating.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm pretty much an open book, I think.
You should message me if
You're interested in games, being social, community events, or other nerdy things.

You should message me if you're not perfect, if you talk when you should listen sometimes, or let your thoughts wander. If you sing for the sake of singing. If your imperfections make you stronger.
