My self-summary
I love exploring and studying cities, debating social issues, making and sharing food. I'm from Toronto, lived seven years in Montreal, and have been in Brooklyn now for nine.

I'm an environmentalist, but prefer cities to nature. I don't mind the occasional hike, but am happiest walking the streets, looking at people. Environmentalism convinced me to be vegan for 8 years, but these days I'll eat anything in a social setting.

I get around mostly by bike, love walking aimlessly for hours, but don't want to have an exercise regimen.

I'd like to bike from one end of Cuba to the other. A meandering, lazy trip, not speedy.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm an architectural project manager at a medium-sized firm in SoHo. One day I'll start a small-scale residential development company.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Magical realism, like Salman Rushdie. Also books about places I know - Toronto, Montreal, or Brooklyn: Amazing Absorbing Boy, Cockroach, Fortress of Solitude. And books about places I don't know, like the Alexandria Quartet. Also non-fiction about social issues and urban geography - Jane Jacobs is my idol.

Movies: More magical realism, or stylized: Chungking Express, Days of Being Wild, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Down by Law...
Bamboozled, Nacho Libre

Music: both funky and meditative. Jazz, hip hop, African, latin, electronic, house... Recent things I've been wearing out are Tim Maia, Frank Ocean, Vampire Weekend. Went to a fun reunion concert by Cibo Matto a few weeks back. Digable Planets. Rhythm of the Saints.
