My self-summary
I'm basically just a regular John Doe...searching for my Exene!

I live my life by two main philosophies. "Jokes are for the teller," and "the shark's gonna eat the bitch."

Just dreaming of the day I'll meet a girl who loves Nick Cave like I do. Or Julian Cope. Or Luke Haines. Or my cats.
What I’m doing with my life
I have a good job that I like, occasionally love, and sometimes hate. Retail store management. It pays me enough that I never have to say "How much does that beer cost?"

Much more interesting than work is my theatre "career." Sometimes actor, sometimes director, sometimes writer. I work with a couple different companies that generally do only new works. I tend to write short plays with some little hint of a sci-fi element to them.

I'm not very good with a camera, but I do have a website where I post pictures and stories about the various and sundry cats I encounter when I'm out and about. It's a bit on hold for the winter, but will be back with a vengeance soon! It's called Kitters Of Columbus on Facebook.

And I like running.
I’m really good at
I'm good at writing short plays (around the 7-10 minute range). And I'm a good actor for the right role. I am generally better at comedy than drama.

I'm really great at making friends. Admittedly, this skill sometimes isn't very useful when it comes to dating. But I continue to believe that for the right person, it will matter. It's worked before.

And I'm a good runner. I can manage the pain well!

Honesty. Although I'd probably say the same if I were dishonest. Oh well. If someone chooses to find out, they will see that it's true.
The first things people usually notice about me
Flashy running shoes. Messy hair. Quick wit.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
This is a fun section. I'm a really big music collector. I do have a top five, which is The Fall, Nick Cave, Julian Cope, Luke Haines and Gogol Bordello. But beyond those names there's just a ton of stuff I like. I dig 80s metal, Australian Punk Rock, Celtic and Celtic rock, alt-country, 80s alternative etc.

I read a lot. Especially science fiction/fantasy. I like the dumb stuff like Star Wars novels and the more intelligent stuff like Dune and Arthur C. Clarke. And like everyone else, I absolutely love the Song of Ice and Fire series. Currently re-reading the series for the third time.

I'm not a movie buff, but I of course watch them. The World's End was made just for me. Major League and V for Vendetta are my other favorites. Eternal Sunshine is another one, even though it almost ripped off a theme from a play I was writing when the movie came out.

I don't tend to watch too many TV shows religiously. The one major exception is "Always Sunny In Philadelphia."

Sports, of course. Cleveland and Ohio State teams all the way.
The six things I could never do without
1. Running Shoes
2. Books
3. My CDs
4. An opportunity to perform
5. Gretchen and Brix (yes, I'm a dude with cats)
6. Hope
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What do aliens really look like?

If there is an afterlife, what is it like? Do I get to choose?

If cats had developed opposable thumbs before the apes, where would we be now?
On a typical Friday night I am
Pub. Performing. Performing then pub. Late night run. Or maybe going to bed early. Retail means Saturday mornings can be busy.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've seen "The World's End" twenty-two times...and counting.
