My self-summary
Hello online-mate shoppers. We all know this isn't easy--present only the best side of ourselves for that potential individual of significance. But here we are, anyway, trying to make a human connection.

I have found myself here because I don't often go to bars, or find myself frequenting the kinds of social events that provide the opportunity to meet new people at the rate of which I would prefer. And since everyone seems to be on their computer/phones/etc. all the time anyways, what better place to make these choices? To stay safely tucked in our homes, behind a keyboard, peering into a screen, carefully selecting, consciously choosing...to say hello.

Here is my best side:
I have a wanderlust aching in these bones. Having grown up in a small farm town in the Midwest, I was more than ready to experience the world; I moved to a larger city in the Midwest to do my undergrad and receive a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Afterwards, a series of life events inspired me to study human touch. For many years now I have explored many modalities of massage therapy. This opened opportunities that have led me to travel the world, and one of my most fantastic adventures was studying with a Taoist Master in Thailand. After returning from Asia I decided I had had enough of the winter wonderland, I moved across the country to California to explore Traditional Chinese Medicine. I have recently just completed 4 years of a grueling Master's Degree. The best part of it--living in San Diego.
What I’m doing with my life
Recently I just returned from a 3wk intensive internship in Chengdu, China. I witnessed the Doctors of Traditional Chinese Medicine do this ancient medicine (Acupuncture, Herbology) in hospitals. Not only that, but I survived an earthquake while in China!!

I am delighted when I get to teach meditation(s), experience the mountains or the ocean, expressing myself through art: drawing the human form, black and white photography, painting, poetry, music--piano or guitar and whatever other way I am inspired to share myself with the world. I'm looking forward to having time to create again--being in school was heady and intellectual, I'm ready for some raw, pure creative outlets.

As mentioned, I am a bodyworker, I've learned many forms of massage and healing, (Shiatsu, Chi Nei Tsang, Thai Massage, Reiki, Bodymindcentering) and I have the daily opportunity to educate people about their body. I want to continue to learn the many ways to facilitate the healing process.

I'm not interested in your favorite sports team or bar/dance clubs--it's not my scene.

I do enjoy running, my favorite time is early-ish mornings and/or sun sets. I often cave into my laziness at times and appreciate some respectable, poor postured lounging around. That can happen at home, the beach or a park.

I also practice Kundalini Yoga.

Exploring the many ways in which to nourish the body, whether it be through touch, food, herbs, needles, sound, communication, etc.
I am always growing, evolving, educating, learning. Being teacher and student. Lover and listener.
I’m really good at
Non-verbal communication. Touch. Facilitating the luxurious experience of being in your body...and yes, every ending is happy.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've been told that my eyes are emotive.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
How about a few of each? Not limited to, or in any particular order...

Books: A Heartbreaking Work of a Staggering Genius, Satanic Verses, Life of Pi

Movies: Stranger than Fiction, Zombieland, Serenity

TV: Arrested Development, Breaking Bad, True Blood, Fringe and anything Joss Whedon

Music: Santigold, Dessa, Lena Del Ray, Electric Guest, Radiohead, Cake, Stars of the Lid, Karunesh, Beck, Joanna Newsome, CocoRosie and good old Jack Johnson

Food: I've been rocking the Paleo since Sept. 2012 and finding great success and I've never been so excited about food.
The six things I could never do without
(cell phone)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How most people live in their bodies and don't know where their organs are located or how they function. I often think about how useful it would be to integrate body awareness education earlier in life.
On a typical Friday night I am
Well, it used to be studying, however, now, it's been Netflix, Hulu or a casual dinner with friends. I prefer low-key evenings, but don't mind being out and about with the right company.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I always scroll down and read the "You should message me if" first when reading a profile on OKC.
You should message me if
You want to make a human connection.
I'm looking for is someone to be in awe of the world with me.
I want to inspire and be inspired; someone to grow and evolve with.

And to repeat: I'm not interested in your favorite sports team or bar/dance clubs--it's not my scene, nor do I care.
Also, I am not interested in couples.
