My self-summary
If you have a legitimate lead on hidden treasure, I'll help you find it (for a fair share). We can share our stories as we cross oceans, deserts, mountains, and forests. We'll have to work together to get out of tough spots. It will push us to our limits, but we can get it done as long as we hold nothing back. If we find the treasure, we celebrate. If we don't find the treasure, we celebrate.
What I’m doing with my life
Writing and Directing for film and television. I'm transitioning out of below-the-line where I worked for the last ten years. I've had some encouraging success and I'm working on making a career out of my imagination.
I’m really good at
Telling stories.
Fixing things.
Building things.
Cooking food.
Telling jokes.
Riding bikes.
Eating food.
Getting sunburned.
Standing on my porch watching the sun set.
Making friends.
Hosting BBQs.
I'm pretty good at listening. I'm not the best, but I'm pretty good.
Spending too much money at Home Depot.
The first things people usually notice about me
Bald, beard, loud, laughter
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
BOOKS: Under the Black Flag, Me Talk Pretty One Day, Devil in the White City, The Rag and Bone Shop of the Heart, all the Philip Marlowe stories by Raymond Chandler, Stephen King, Chuck Palahniuk, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Frankenstein, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, the short story collections of Patrick McManus, Hitch: The Life and Times of Alfred Hitchcock, Future Noir: The Making of Blade Runner, The Tools of Screenwriting...

COMIC BOOKS: Y The Last Man, Saga, pretty much anything by Brian K. Vaughan, Hellboy, B.P.R.D., Alan Moore is growing on me...

TV SHOWS: I watch a lot of television. So this is quite difficult to narrow down. -- Game of Thrones, VEEP, The Sopranos, Legion, The Americans, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, King of the Hill, the first ten seasons of The Simpsons, Deadliest Catch, Red Dwarf, Sherlock, Are You Being Served, Peep Show, That Mitchell and Webb Look, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, The IT Crowd, Snuff Box, Sherlock, Z Nation (it's just so silly), No Reservations, Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown, Parks and Recreation, Archer, Trailer Park Boys, The Mind of a Chef, Arrested Development, 30 Rock, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, The Chapelle Show, GLOW...

MOVIES: I'm just going to list my favorites from the last couple years to keep this list more reasonable than the TV list. -- Logan, Get Out, Colossal, The Witch, Deadpool, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Green Room, The Neon Demon, Don't Think Twice, Hell or High Water, Arrival, Ex Machina, Mad Max: Fury Road, Sicario, Straight Outta Compton, Room, Crimson Peak, Krampus, The Big Short, It Follows...

I will keep working on this list, but I need a break.
Six things I could never do without
1.) Oxygen
2.) Humor
3.) Knife
4.) Paper
5.) Pencil
6.) Learning new things
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Stories more than anything. Writers never stop assigning themselves homework.
Politics are on my mind a lot these days because I hate our current president and all that he stands for.
Food. I like cooking and I just planted a garden.
Adventures: Where can I go? What can I do there?
How to fix stuff.
On a typical Friday night I am
In my house watching something, or I'm in my room writing. I like going out and stuff, but I've been living lean for a long time. So I tend get my recreation on the cheap.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I take medication to treat anxiety/depression. I also see a therapist. In my experience, treating these issues is far more pleasant than not treating them.

I play Dungeons & Dragons with a group of friends most Sunday nights.
You should message me if
...you want to know more about me.
...you want coffee.
You want to.
