My self-summary
A New York transplant living in Charlotte for 3 years trying to educate students who would rather whip and nae nae than solve a two step equation. I can't blame them, so would I!

I went to a tiny school for my Bachelors in Mathematics and Mathematics Education and my Masters in Mathematics Education. I moved down here to be closer to family, and I haven't looked back since.

I could be considered a gym rat, but I don't have the six pack to prove it. I'm in there nearly everyday to make sure I never get back to the size I was in high school (quite large).
What I’m doing with my life
Entering my 5th year of teaching middle school math in the area, deciding what to do next. So many opportunities in Charlotte to take advantage of!
I’m really good at
Mathematics and making a mess when I cook. And I guess breaking sunglasses (If that counts?) I'm always going back to H&M for another pair it seems like.

I'm also fairly decent at lightening the mood. My colleagues tend to say I am always smiling and having a good time.
The first things people usually notice about me
How tall I am. Then it is usually my blue eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Not much of a reader, but I did/do enjoy: The Harry Potter series, The Hunger Games series, The Game of Throne series, The Smartest Kids in the World and How They Got There, and Men's Health.

Movies: Gladiator, Dumb and Dumber, Meet the Parents, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, any Pixar Movie (Toy Story and Monster's Inc are my favorites), and I guess I'll throw in Star Wars Episode 7 (it was pretty great, even without the general lore of Star Wars).

Shows: Game of Thrones, Suits, 24, True Blood, Stalker, The Blacklist, Gotham, Quantico, Daredevil, and Bones.

Music: Jimmy Eat World, Gym Class Heroes, Justin Timberlake, Old Kanye and a ton more!

Food: Sushi is amazing. And Chinese on Fridays is my go to after teaching all week. I'm a fan of almost anything though!
The six things I could never do without
Weekends (Not the singer)
Family, more importantly, my nephew!
The gym
Mathematics (The 7th one, ironically)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What next? My career will be changing within the next couple of years, so I'm trying to figure out how to get there.
On a typical Friday night I am
Depends on how exhausted I am. It can range from crashing on the couch with some Chinese food, going to a local bar, or hitting up a restaurant in Charlotte.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I used to think Mich Ultra was lame, but I find myself drinking it more and more after trying to become healthier (Beer and being healthy? It works).

I thoroughly enjoy Destiny's Child and Nsync radio on Pandora.
