My self-summary
Hey! I'm Kathy, I'm 25 and a line cook. That's pretty much it.
What I’m doing with my life
I just completed my Culinary Arts degree and my Pastry Arts Certificate, and working at 2 restaurants in the area. I'm trying to figure out the next step in advancing my career.
I’m really good at
I'm pretty good at helping people out of holes they have dug for themselves, listening, finding furniture with my shins and/or pinky toes, and cooking (I have the medal to prove this one).
The first things people usually notice about me
My hair, which is a huge curly mess most of the time, my laugh, and my knowledge of random crap.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm a bit of a film nerd, so if you give me a movie, I probably know of/have seen it.
I'll read anything that's in front of me, but at the moment, chef memoirs and reading Harry potter with my 12 year old sister.
My music tastes are all over the place. Right now, my work Playlist jumps from Fleetwood Mac to Hopsin to Lil Dickey back to Danzig. Have fun figuring that out.
I love to cook, so pretty much anything that's made well I'll try, but Mediterranean, Mexican, and Indian foods are my favorite.
The six things I could never do without
My kitchen shoes, my little sister, good friends, an open road, my knife kit, and the beach.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything, anything and nothing at the same time.
And lexical gaps. Why is there not a word for when there's not a word for something?
I also spend way too much time thinking about how to turn my parents back yard into my own personal farm.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working the dinner shift and corraling a bunch of line cooks.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My job is my life, and for where I am in my career, it has to be. I'm always working and it makes having time for hanging out very difficult, but it will be worth it when I have my own restaurant.

Also, I have ten pet chickens. I don't know how that happened.
You should message me if
The idea of rarely being able to see each other doesn't have you running away.
