My self-summary
Recently, overhearing me telling a story to friends, a little old southern lady turned to me in a restaurant to tell me that I was “a strange girl.” I decided to take it as a compliment even though it probably wasn't.
What I’m doing with my life
If I'm not grading at coffee shops, I read too much, travel, watch crappy movies and shows, cook and bake for friends, check out local events, go to pub quiz, and paint objects bright colors because I'm bored with them.
I’m really good at
I'm super talented at falling down and breaking things.

I'm also great at mispronouncing words, forgetting names immediately after being told them, self deprecation, and not crossing everything off my meticulous "To Do" lists.

I also strive to be as good as Leslie Knope at giving gifts.
The first things people usually notice about me
People tend to notice me right as I do something embarrassing. I'm invisible until I make a silly face, loudly say something obscene, or drop pasta on my shirt.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I mostly gravitate towards contemporary fiction and nonfiction (Palahniuk, Vonnegut, Atwood..) I've been reading lots of graphic novels lately (Preacher was a recent favorite!) and lots of weird memoirs. I really like when people suggest awesome books I've never heard of. I also like buying obscure paperbacks from thrift stores and judging them by their covers. I recently read House of Leaves and it changed my life a bit.

I enjoy watching poorly made thrillers and shitty zombie movies, raunchy comedies, and overly dramatic documentaries. I hate watching movies that make me cry but occasionally watch them anyway (but only once).

As for TV shows, my favorites are How I Met Your Mother, The Office, Walking Dead, House, LOST, Six Feet Under, Survivor, Parks and Rec, X Files. I also love binge watching and mocking terrible reality TV shows.
The six things I could never do without
I'm not nearly witty enough to answer this question and refuse.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why so many people answer "the future" to this question.

I also think about where I should travel next, the history of words, conspiracy theories and why I should believe them, the symbolism of mundane every day events. I overthink all the things.
On a typical Friday night I am
Not too long ago on a Friday, I wandered into Tijuana, crossing the border on foot and left after buying a painting of the Virgin of Guadalupe.

Last Friday, I was home, drinking a glass of wine and watching Kitchen Nightmares on Netflix while working on a jigsaw puzzle.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My favorite Star Trek series was Enterprise.
You should message me if
You want to tell an interesting story, ask a question, recommend your favorite book, correct my horrendous grammar, teach me about geology, or are talented at constructing puns. I love meeting other strange people and having conversations that aren't just small talk. I'm terrible at small talk.

OR If you're one of the dudes in this video, because really, this is exactly what I'm looking for in a partner. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0bomkgXeDkE
