My self-summary
I'm kind of a geek, but not the stereotypical, basement-dwelling, covered in cheeto dust kind. I am a completely normal person who likes stuff that's weird.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a quality engineer at a software company. I'm also currently learning to play the violin.
I’m really good at
I'm pretty good at listening, making people laugh, and keeping myself entertained. I also make some kick ass chocolate chip cookies and a killer lasagna. When I say "killer," I mean delicious, not actually lethal. I guess my cookies will not actually kick your ass, either, since we're not being literal.
The first things people usually notice about me
I use big words a lot and often succumb to a mad urge to sing and dance.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies - I love horror movies, even the schlocky ones. Boondock Saints, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Super Troopers, Fight Club is my comfort movie, Drop Dead Gorgeous, American Beauty, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, just to name a few.

Music - A Perfect Circle, Tool, Them Crooked Vultures, Queens of the Stone Age, The Mountain Goats, Nujabes, Perturbator, Emancipator, Carpenter Brut, Nat King Cole, Clutch, NIN, Deftones, Rammstein, Die Antwoord, etc. etc.

Books - The Wheel of Time series, A Song of Ice and Fire series, Harry Potter, Robin McKinley, Terry Pratchett, Christopher Moore, Neil Gaiman, Jane Austin, The Brothers Karamozov, Wuthering Heights, White Oleander, The Lovely Bones, and so many, many more.

TV Shows - The Walking Dead, Venture Brothers, Game of Thrones, The IT Crowd, South Park, The X-Files, Veep, Sherlock, Elementary, Buffy

Food - there is no genre of food I don't enjoy. Except raw onions. Raw onions are terrible. And nutmeg.
Six things I could never do without
Family
Friends
Books
Music
My PS4
Netflix
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Snappy one-liners that I should have said during an argument 6 years ago.

What if people could fly, but flying required just as much effort as running? Could we start a Fly-to-5K program?

How did Fred and George know how to work the Marauders' Map? And why weren't they curious when they noticed that Ron slept with a dude named Peter Pettigrew in his dorm every night?

Why don't more people recognize the brilliance of the movie Tremors? Or The 13th Warrior?

How long could I leave my Halloween decorations up before my HOA starts sending nasty letters?
On a typical Friday night I am
Sitting on my ass watching Netflix. Let's be honest here, right? Sometimes I'll go out to eat with some people, maybe have a few drinks, though I find that only special occasions are worth the hangover these days.
You should message me if
You don't have "pillow pictures" in your profile - pics of you laying on a pillow with no shirt with this soft, possibly meant to be post-coital look on your face. I find them incredibly off-putting.

You can hold a conversation. Doesn't even have to be a particularly interesting conversation, just keep the format of one. Like, ask questions and answer the ones I ask you with more than a 3 or 4 word response. People really suck at this, apparently.
