My self-summary
If I could only use 6 words to describe myself they would be; creative, passionate, energetic, bold, silly & caring. Sarcasm comes easily to me, as well as feistiness.

My passions are my son, the environment, animal rights (and all things to do with animals), traveling and the field of developmental disabilities.

I am an optimistic cynic and completely ridiculous at times. I have a pretty hard shell, but a soft interior. I like corny, cheesy, ridiculous romance, as long as it isn't taken too seriously.

I don't believe in regrets, I am very loyal to the people I hold in my heart, I believe in helping others and that the simple things in life are the things that end up mattering the most. I enjoy passionate, engaging conversations, providing they are respectful. Even nonsensical conversations that provide laughs are good in my books! I crave adventure & spontaneity from deep within my bones. I need to see as much of the world as possible. Experiences trump possessions for me.

I love; music, trying new beers & wine, nature, camping, canoeing, swimming, hiking, picnics, roller-blading, the ocean, hammocks, animals, Monet, antique meets modern, ice cream, pumpkin cake with cream cheese icing, trees, jewelry, dry & awkward humor, laughing till you cry, photography, board games, card games, dancing, the moon, flowers, architecture, reading, potatoes, sea food, putting things together, getting my own way, quiet places, music festivals & concerts, going to new places, trying new things...and probably lots more.
What I’m doing with my life
I am a full-time mother of one human, one dog and one cat. I work as an Adult Community Participation Worker for adults with disabilities and dual diagnosis. I love the field that I work in. I'm also finishing up my college diploma.

I went to Ottawa U and studied Criminology, but haven't finished my degree yet. I found many of my classes to be very interesting and a few of my professors really shaped how I view the criminal justice system, but don't see myself working in that field.
I’m really good at
My job - also, being enthusiastic as well as being creative (especially when it comes to thinking outside the box) and laughing at myself!

I used to be pretty good with a pencil, chalk and a paint brush, but haven't worked on anything in quite some time now. It is something I would like to get back into :) I've started painting again as a social outing with 'Paint Nite in Ottawa' - enjoying it immensely!!
The first things people usually notice about me
Are my eyes (they are hazel), my confidence & my awkwardness (yes the two can go together), my facial piercings...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I am really horrible with remembering names and titles of things, but one of my favourite authors is Jonathan Safran Foer. I enjoy many book series and tend to go for non-fiction or fantasy/sci-fi.

I'm in love with so many singers/bands (in no particular order); Stars, The Paper Kites, Mumford & Sons, Florence & the Machine, City & Colour, Paulo Nutini, Yoav, Broken Social Scene, Metric, Coldplay, Wilco, Gomez, The Black Keys, Jack Johnson, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Neil Young, Jimmy Buffet, The Lumineers, Half Moon Run, Of Monsters & Men, Young the Giant, Joni Mitchell, George Ezra, Haim, James Bay, Terra Lightfoot, Lord Huron, etc.

It's a great moment when you hear something new and fall in love with it!

I try my best to be a conscious consumer in all aspects, including with what I'm eating and feeding to my son. I read the ingredients on everything and have a pretty good idea of what to avoid. I believe in buying organic and locally grown, as much as possible.
The six things I could never do without
1. My son/ family/ friends
2. Freedom
3. Adventure
4. Nature
5. Laughter
6. The weird things in life!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
A multitude of things, but lately, a lot about what next adventure I'll take!
On a typical Friday night I am
Enjoying time with friends and family, whether it be a night on the town, drinks and board games at a friends place or cuddled on the couch with my favourite lil man and furbabies!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I never really learned how to ride a bicycle. When I visited a small town in Holland, I got to ride a tricycle and was pretty terrified!
You should message me if
You like what you read!
