to meet someone in seattle for a beer, or a rock show, or riding bikes, or playing music, or playing pinball, or building something, or learning something, or throwing rocks, or smashing things, or all or none of the above.
WHEN DO WE WANT IT?
i moved to seattle in april. i was born and raised in st. louis and had been living there "professionally" for ten years and things just weren't going the way i expected them to. i was working on a project with a startup company (i know, everyone has a startup company) that wasn't going anywhere, i was working a contract job at a soul crusher to pay my bills and that was coming to an end. all my friends started having kids, girls kept telling me "no" when i asked them out, and people kept getting shot. since i was going to be unemployed looking for work anyway, i figured i might as well be unemployed looking for work in seattle instead of unemployed looking for work in st. louis.
so now i spend my days applying for jobs and applying for dates online.
"i don't date anyone shorter than 5'-10" -- girl who lists her height as 5'-0
"80 people have already applied for this position"
etc. etc. etc.
that goes double for the new wolf alice
i was raised on a healthy diet of MST3k and the marx bros., monty python and the talking heads.
i've read a lot of isaac asimov. he loves to use the word "sardonic".
i've also read a lot of edgar allen poe. he loves to use the word "ejaculate".

"foam coffee" and "cherokee st" are two inherently st. louis things, but the takeaway is that i love seeing odd-ball music shows at coffee shops that serve PBR in pre-gentrified neighborhoods. (any recommendations in the seattle area?)
