My self-summary
I was raised in Idaho but have lived in quite a few places all over the world, including Japan. I most recently moved to San Diego about 3 years ago and love life down here. I'm close to my family in Idaho and have a group of close friends down here in San Diego, some old some new. I'm an avid reader, very into the outdoors and looking to start dating again after a year of travels.
What I’m doing with my life
I work for the department of defense and enjoy what I do and the people I work with. I love hiking with my dog, Piper, and am very open to new experiences. At the end of the day the life we've lived is a collection of micro-stories involving different places, people and events and I live the best I can to make sure every day contains a story worth telling.
I’m really good at
being a friend. I would say I'm the most proud of those people whose lives I've touched, both friends and strangers.

I'm also annoyingly good at trivial pursuit.
The first things people usually notice about me
Well, last night (of writing this) was a super-hero based pub crawl, so I think that people would notice I was dressed like an adult Harry Potter -- my friend's cruel idea of a joke.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read most everything I can. I'm a huge fan of both fiction and non-fiction. Jon Krakauer is one of my all-time favorites, though I enjoy any author who can suck you into the story.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I paint my toe nails. To be fair, it's because I often do marathons, including the ultra-50-mile Mount Rainier. The draw-back of this is that it can tend to turn your toe-nails purple-ish, so I just have them painted.
