My self-summary
I'm a 28 year old behavioral therapist that works with kids with special needs. Working out and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is extremely important to me as I fully believe that a healthy body = a healthy mind. I'm just looking to meet people who are laid back and like to experience new things. I'm drawn to people that are passionate about life but do not take themselves too seriously.
What I’m doing with my life
I work as a behavioral therapist to kids with special needs, specifically children who are on the autism spectrum. My therapy is a combination of applied behavioral analysis, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. The kids and families that I have worked with have taught me more than I could ever teach them. This work has been one of the most rewarding and challenging experiences of my life and I look forward to what each day brings working with these kids.
I’m really good at
I wouldn't really consider myself an expert at anything, though i love learning and educating myself about things that interest me. I played soccer since I was 4 years old and played in college. While in college I injured my back, so now my working out consist mainly of running and yoga. I've completed a few half marathons and do yoga at least twice a week to help keep my body strong and my mind calm.

I'm also good at running my mouth when I am excited about a topic. I love love love meeting people who challenge my perspectives on things and I like doing the same for others. We're all so different and have so much to offer to the world and to each other. I feed off of intellectual conversations but also love silence. I am weird as hell and have become quite the extrovert as I've gotten older.
The first things people usually notice about me
Typically people first notice my hair and eyes.

Personality wise people tend to notice my dry sense of humor and quick wit almost immediately. I'm not mean spirited or hateful in my sarcasm but just have a very dry delivery.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I can't lie that I thoroughly enjoyed the Hunger Games trilogy. The combination of entertainment value and social commentary had me hooked and I read all three books within a few days while camping in Colorado. My goal this year had been to read more but I'm not keeping up with it too well so far. Any suggestions?

Movies that stand out recently would definitely be Silver Linings Playbook and Perks of Being a Wallflower. I enjoy character driven stories in which the characters are vulnerable and flawed but fight their way back from rock bottom.

Favorite shows: The Walkind Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, OITNB

Music: Mumford and Sons, Beyoncé, Sia, Florence and the Machine, Rhianna, Macklmore, etc etc. I could go on and on about music but there's too many to name. I love everything from 90s alternative to 50s Motown. I don't tend to be a music snob and can find stuff I like from pretty much any genre. I enjoy live music of all varieties.

I used to be a pretty picky eater but that has faded as I have gotten older. I enjoy eating simple, fresh, healthy and flavorful food. One of my favorite things to do in my spare time is to discover new places to eat. I really enjoy Thai food, Mexican, and Italian. Juicing has also become a daily ritual for me and has been such a positive change in my life both physically and mentally.
The six things I could never do without
1. Friends and family (both human and of the furry variety)
2. Words
3. Nature
4. The sunshine
5. A sense of humor
6. A healthy lifestyle (working out and eating healthy)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How truth is relative. I believe that everyone's truth and perspective is different and at the end of the day there is no such thing as right and wrong, good and bad. I do not see things as black and white but in shades of gray. (And no I have not read those books...but I'm not hating on you if you have.)

Don't get me wrong, I am very firm and passionate in my beliefs but I do not disregard other points of view as stupid or invalid just because they are not aligned with mine. Live and let live man.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably at the dog park
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a not so secret addiction to sour candy and I have fallen off my bike more than once to avoid running over squirrels.
You should message me if
You can hold a conversation and have sometime to say. If you have a passion for life and are willing to step outside your box to try new things. I like people with a healthy balance of stability and spontaneity. I'm just looking for friends and cool people to hang out with.
