My self-summary
First thing you should know, Karl Pilkington is my hero. If that's enough for you, skip the rest and message me now, hah. Anyway.

My name is Kyle and I'm 31. I'm a huge sports fan and computer nerd. I value honesty above just about everything and am looking for someone to share the joys of life with.

I have a wide range and diversity of interests. At different times, I'll be focusing on completely different things. I don't think I could realistically name all of my interests, so feel free to ask me about anything you might be interested in... chances are I'll have an opinion on it, at least!

I test as INTJ on the Myers-Briggs test, if that is something that interests you.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently a full-time caregiver. My mother is rather ill and I've been taking care of her for the last few years. It's not glamorous but it's the right thing to do.

It's obviously not something I'll be doing the rest of my life, so once I'm not needed to take care of her, I'll at least have experience with caregiving and can probably find a job along those lines. I was also close to finishing an Accounting degree awhile back so that's something I can work towards as well.
I’m really good at
I've become pretty good at cooking! It's something I hadn't really done until a few years ago but I've found I really enjoy it and have a pretty good sense for flavor combinations and the like. Easily the skill I have that was the most fun to learn.

There's some other hobbies I'm quite good at... namely video games and bowling. Oh, and trivia! I know way too much trivial crap that comes in really handy when watching Jeopardy. Some day I'll get a tryout for the show... was only a couple questions off this last time on the online test from making it to the tryouts.
The first things people usually notice about me
Well, I would imagine my beard is the very first thing. But in terms of personality, people usually pick up that I'm very intelligent very quick. I think people also notice that I stutter pretty quick.

Oh, people probably notice I'm a bit quiet at first, too. But once I get comfortable around someone, I often don't shut up for awhile, hah. My parents often say the first word I learned was "incessantly" for that very reason.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Not a big book reader, mostly just sports books if I do. Stuff like Moneyball and the Bill James New Historical Baseball Abstract. In the past I read quite a few Steven King books, and they were excellent. Oh, I also read a lot of the Star Wars expanded universe books when I was younger. A lot of fun those were.

Now, I am a HUGE A Song of Ice and Fire fan. I've read each book twice and know way too much about the series. I can easily spend an entire evening reading theories and discussing the tiniest of details about the story.

For movies, I don't tend to have a preference for genre. Some of my favorites off the top of my head: Dr. Strangelove, The Day After(1983 Made for TV movie), The Cooler, Whiplash, The Weather Man, 12 Angry Men, A Time to Kill, Fail Safe, Shawshank Redemption.

Oh, and all campy made-for-Syfy movies. Especially the disaster ones. They're good because they're so bad. How can you not like a movie called "Ragin' Cajun Redneck Gators"??? "Annihilation: Earth" is likely my favorite. If you have to check every Saturday what their new movie of the week will be, just call me now and lets start dating, haha.

Also, Rifftrax can make any movie awesome.

TV shows, I'm a big fan of Doctor Who, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Sherlock, Black Mirror, The Man in The High Castle, House MD, Simpsons Season 1-10, Futurama, The Newsroom, Third Rock From the Sun.

Music wise... Outside of being a huge Parrothead(Jimmy Buffett fan!) I tend to like a lot of classic rock and country type music.

Food wise, I'll try most of anything. Fruit is probably my favorite type of food. I'm also a huge spicy food addict, I have an ever growing collection of insane hot sauces. I'm always looking for the spiciest food wherever I go.
The six things I could never do without
1. The truth
2. My friends
3. The internet/my computer/Reddit
4. My car
5. My ever growing collection of hot sauces(currently around 15 with at least two of them at 1+ million scoville units)
6. My cat
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What trades I can make in my fantasy leagues(either Baseball or Football)

Also, I probably spend too much time thinking about science and history stuff. I'm practically obsessed with the Cold War era and the philosophies of that time when it comes to the leaders of the major powers.

Oh, I also wonder how badly Psychology students/graduates want to study the interactions on this site... hah.
On a typical Friday night I am
Not doing much? Probably binge watching some TV shows or reading about history/sports. Never been a fan of bars/clubs/whatever.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have never... drank a single sip of coffee. Ever. I honestly don't know why, the smell isn't off-putting or anything. Just never even tried coffee.
You should message me if
You don't mind dealing with someone that stutters. It's not that bad at all, and once I'm comfortable around someone, they can at times forget about it because I can become very fluent, but it's still something that will always be there and I'm sure can be frustrating to deal with at times. People tell me I handle it better than anyone else they know that stutters, though.

You want to play a very competitive game of Stratego. I have the board and pieces!

Or you're just interested. I know my situation is different from most people you run into on here. A decent chunk of my day is taken up by doing things for my mother since about all she can do herself is walk to the bathroom and back. That doesn't mean I don't have any free time, I have a decent amount it's just not always consistent on what time/day. So if you don't mind that I've kind of put my life on hold to take care of my mom, then things can work out fantastically between us.
