My self-summary
Teacher working in various schools in a tiny little town outside of Sasebo (I tried to set my actual home but OKC doesn't think it exists). Been in Japan for about 3 years, here for another 2 at least. Speaks Japanese, but not well, and English but not prettily.
What I’m doing with my life
Teaching, and trying to make the most of my time in Japan. Trying to figure out my next step in life.
I’m really good at
Heavy metal trivia, making the best of things, the discourse, surviving Japanese school lunches.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes and that I have a banging ass.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite books include To Kill a Mockingbird, In Cold Blood, the Great Gatsby, the Bell Jar, Perdido Street Station, a Song of Ice and Fire series, lots of trashy sci-fi and fantasy.

Movies change all the time so it's for me to remember. TV shows are Westworld, Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, Riverdale.

Music is pretty heavily metal oriented: Metallica, Mastodon, Megadeth, Anthrax, Lamb of God, Opeth, Khemmis, Dawnbringer, Katatonia. I also love Lana Del Rey, Solange and the Weeknd.

Food is pretty much anything, Thai, Indian or Mexican are great though.
Six things I could never do without
Game Grumps
Doom metal
My kindle, because you can't buy English books out here apart from freaking Nicholas Sparks novels and hooooooly shit...
Shamisen lessons
Yakiniku
The Revolution
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Lamb of God's band logo is just papyrus font. Like...do you think anyone's told them?
On a typical Friday night I am
At shamisen class or out drinking with the girls, or both. My teacher can get cruuuunk.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I used to be a lawyer.

Oh, and I own all of Motley Crue's discography.

I'm equally embarrassed about both of these things.
You should message me if
You want:

-someone to show you around Japan outside of the little bubble that is Sasebo. I'll show you where the weird sex shop is!

-a road trip partner, you can even play with my iPod

- to listen and clap along to some really banging Japanese folk music
