My self-summary
Born and raised Californian who spent way too much time in Texas and Montana in my formative years. I love to explore and am always looking for my next adventure. I am fascinated with science, art, and politics. If we ever hang out I may nerd out about some sort of interesting ocean critters.

I am very glad I am not a male angler fish.

I am addicted to loose leaf tea, strong smokey whiskey and nice wine. There are some weeks where I am insanely busy going out to a friend’s show, participating in an art event, checking out a Burlesque show, chatting it up in dive bars, swinging in jazz clubs, and wandering at night in a park or on a beach. There are other weeks where I stay locked in, doing work and indulging in a netflix binge.

Above everything else, I am interested in people and stories, and puppies - all the puppies.
What I’m doing with my life
I am an outreach and communications professional who works in the green energy sector and created his own ocean communications nonprofit, mainly to get to hang out with awesome people and go and crazy adventures.

Trying to save the world and enjoy what little time I have on this planet.
I’m really good at
producing and hosting videos with cool people
problem solving
bear hugs
dad jokes
baking pie
remembering obscure trivia
thinking about stuff and things...
The first things people usually notice about me
My sense of humor, my eyes, my charm, my lips, how I totally could be a space ship captain.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Autobiography of Red is one of the most amazing books ever, "Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul" and anything by Douglas Adams, Enders Game, Vertigo Comics, Stranger in a Strange Land, Master and Margarita, I love E.E. Cummings and Ginsberg. I am in love with how Vonnegut and Bukowski write.

I have eclectic tastes but I could always challenge you to a Princess Bride quote contest. science of sleep, david lynch, fellini, bad and foreign horror and Gilliam. Most movies involving Tom Waits, like Wristcutters, 12 Monkeys, Dracula, Down By Law, etc. I have a deep love of horror movies, esp. Japanese horror (audition/ringu) cheezie zombie movies (they live again) or movies with bruce campbell (his entire career).

For TV, I mainly turn to British TV show; IT Crowd, Spaced, Mighty Boosh, Black Books and Monty Python.

For American it is saved for Daily Show (gonna miss Stewart), House of Cards, Archer, other cartoons and watching Game of Thrones with the roomies.

Egon Shiele, early picasso, james jean, Henry Moore, Nathan Altman, and a few others.

I wonder if our desire to separate into music based groups has anything to do with inherited tribal mentality; certain songs resonate with certain groups that collect together in a pseudo tribal/interest association... (this is how my mind randomly works). http://www.last.fm/user/leonleaf

I am interested in math, art, science, physiology, philosophy and how string theory relates to Hofstetter and the way i fall off of a bike.
Six things I could never do without
A good playlist
A sense of humor
Animals, especially big silly dogs.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
If I exorcise my devils, then my angels may leave too, and when they leave they're so hard to find...

(if you know this quote we will get along)
On a typical Friday night I am
Either going to my favorite pub for a drink, going to a show, hanging out with some of my friends, designing a space station, or spending the night in to paint.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I like to retain some mystery.
You should message me if
I think I have found what I am looking for romantically, but could always use more friends!

Generally you should drop me a line if:
You want to have arts and crafts parties.
You want to dress up fancy and go out dancing or to the ballet.
You can make me laugh and laugh at my jokes.
You want to hang in a dive bar and talk about politics, music, movies, or the Muppets.
