My self-summary
(Feel free to check out my journal on OKCupid.)

I am a dreamer. My head...always in the clouds. My soul drifts along on a cool autumn breeze. I am the sand that falls through the hour glass of time. You think you can hang on to every precious moment, but alas, it remains fleeting.

I have fallen in love with a secret sorrow. There exists the character who embodies tragedy. Perhaps they are emotionally void. Perhaps they are disfigured, with scars that cut so deeply into their being. Perhaps they are blinded by unending sadness.

Perhaps. Perhaps. Perhaps

Perhaps this is not the best way to describe my personal likes and or dislikes. However, it is a perfect example of tragic beauty...a dream that I have long held on to. This is for those who have felt alone, and loved from afar...

~This haunted face holds no horror for me now. It's in your soul that the true distortion lies. Pitiful creature of darkness ... What kind of life have you known? God give me courage to show you, you are not alone~

I am angelic, clever, and delicious
What I’m doing with my life

As of July 2011, I am working for Colorado Community College System as Administrative Assistant for the CTE department.

I recently graduated with my Masters of Theological Studies degree from the Iliff School of Theology.

Just to clarify--my degree focused on history, social justice, and the sociological evolution of religion--as opposed to doctrine or ministerial work. In other words, I am a theologian, not a minister. I was not ordained.

Along this same vein - atheists - please feel free to write me. I am not a bible thumper. I abhor proselytization. If you want to dialogue, without hate, I am more than happy to engage in conversation.

As a side, my undergraduate degree was in Art History. I graduated from CU Boulder back in '04. I also used to work for the Denver Art Museum in the education department. I was also an intern under the Master Teacher of the Native/Oceanic Arts.

I am more than happy to talk about my time at the DAM. If you have any questions about the art found in the permanent collections, I'll be happy to answer them.
I’m really good at

IMing, texting, typing. Pretty much anything that involves manual dexterity.

Playing video and computer games.

Being compassionate.

Being in love.

Having vivid dreams.

The first things people usually notice about me
My soft smile.

My ocean-after-a-storm colored eyes.

My laughter.

The fact that I can cuss at something with wild abandon, and come up with creatively wicked words to say out loud.

My sneezes. My hiccups.

My curves (so I've been told). I am very Rubenesque.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
A}I really wish I had more time to read, but sadly, I am often times distracted by real life. Right now I'm working my way through Umberto Eco's Foucault's Pendulum . I also recently picked up Gaiman's American Gods. Some books though, that have caught my attention are: Invisible Monster, Fight Club, White Teeth, Bone Setter's Daughter, Joy Luck Club, anything by Tony Hillerman, Ray Bradbury and Neil Gaiman and a few others I am sure I am forgetting.

B}My favorite movie of all time is: Terry Gillian's The Adventures of Baron Münchhausen. Also, I love Tim Burton. Especially Edward Scissorhands and Sleepy Hollow.

I am always a sucker for Jumping Jack Flash--the ultimate spy movie (and the precursor to internet dating).

I am obsessed with The Blues Brothers. I wrote a research paper on popculture and religion, using The Blues Brothers as my media source. Let me know if you're interested in reading it.

I also like the slew of Marvel and DC movies that have been made....I will always love Batman. I am very excited about the upcoming Christopher Nolan installment of Batman. I also enjoyed the X-men series, including X-men: First Class.

Gotta love Boondock Saints--Willem Dafoe's best role ever! After all, I have a weakness for vigilantism.

For period pieces/Classics enjoy Amadeus, Sense and Sensibility, Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid, Lawrence of Arabia, The Sheik, 12 Angry Men. Paths of Glory, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre.

I also love Kevin Smith films (oh how I eerily relate to Dante in Clerks and Clerks II).

Joss Whedon's Serenity movie was a decent sci-fi film, and I still worship Firefly. Along the sci-fi thread, I do enjoy Star Wars, Alien, The Abyss, Dune, and so on.

Got to love the 80's fantasy films, such as Labyrinth and Legend. Along those same 80's lines, I loved all of those cheesy John Hughes films, such as Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Pretty in Pink--I mean how could you not love Duckie?.

Also, I love Wings of Desire, Brotherhood of the Wolf, Amelie, One Night On Earth, City of Lost Children, Memory of a Killer, Run Lola Run, Chunking Express, and a slew of other pretty foreign films, such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Hero and House of Flying Daggers. I'm sure there are more I am forgetting.

I also like a slew of TV shows. I no longer have a DVR/TIVO, but when I did, I found I watched more TV. Nowadays, I may not turn the TV on for days. But some shows I enjoy/used to enjoy are: Burn Notice, Big Bang Theory, True Blood, The Walking Dead, The Killing, Rome, A Game of Thrones, Lost, Stargate: Universe, Private Practice, Grey's Anatomy, In Plain Sight, Big Love, Heroes, and a Canadian drama series called Da Vinci's Inquest and the series sequel Da Vinci City Hall. There are some oldies, but goodies that I still like to watch, such as Twin Peaks, Freaks And Geeks, My So Called Life, and Night Court. Good gawd, I watched too much TV!

C}For music that fits my normal personality , I like roadhouse rock, classic rock, blues, darkwave, EBM and industrial. As for my typical moment of listening to music, I like the relaxing trippy stuff, such as, Enigma. I like the following groups or artists; Mumford & Sons, Florence & The Machine, Lady Gaga, VNV Nation, Wolfsheim, Rammstein, KMFDM, Apoptygma Berzerk, And One. VAST, Alabama 3 (A3), Danny Elfman, Paul Simon, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, the Doors, the Who, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Stevie-Ray Vaughn, AC/DC, George Thorogood and the Destroyers, Tab Benoit, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Madonna, Green Day, and a ton of movie soundtracks.

D}My favorite food of all time has to be Mexican food. I'm very partial to a good chili rellano or tamale. I have also been going through a hibachi phase as of late. Last year, it was a sushi phase.

I also have a weakness for cheese.
The six things I could never do without
My family (which includes my two Siamese cats: Boo, Mr. Mister and Oberon)
art museums,
mountains (and scenic views, in general),
Internet/computer, and
My big squishy bed of vivid dreaming.
I spend a lot of time thinking about

There are so many places that I would like to visit, or better yet, re-visit. I have been fortunate enough to travel to Europe and the UK several times (as in I've been to England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Holland, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, and the Czech Republic). I greatly enjoyed my travels abroad. I could just lose myself in the museums, and narrow little side streets. I must confess that Venice was one of the most amazing cities I've ever visited. I can't wait to go back! (Hopefully, before it becomes an underwater amusement park)

In April of 2009, I took a spring trek down to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It was my first trip to our neighboring country. I enjoyed myself quite a bit--even though I got sunburned and nearly came back with swine flu...

I also like traveling around in the states. I hope to make it back to NYC again. That is one amazing place--I swear, if a city could have a rhythm to it, NYC has the strongest heartbeat I have ever felt! Another favorite of mine to visit is Las Vegas. It is deliciously hot, sassy, saucy and made of glitzy win.

Hopefully time and finances will fall into place and I can find myself jetting around the world....

On a typical Friday night I am
Stuck in traffic when coming home from work.

I keep my Friday's open. I don't know what I'll end up doing. Usually its dinner out with friends and/or gaming. Then, a movie, catching up on TiVO or something quiet.

Saturday nights are the big party nights.
