My self-summary
Nashville born & raised. I work for a major commercial photo studio in Chelsea as a digital technician. I moved to NY in 2011 after teaching English in Tokyo for a little over a year. It was awesome.

I'm a southern gentleman omnivore with a goofy side. I'll open doors because that's how I was raised. I love the movie theater experience, so I go to the movies all the time, looking for someone who will get or tolerate my movie/pop culture references that you should expect. I'm a tech lover and a fan of popcorn, foodie adventures, most types of music (I play guitar and drum set) and photography. I'm also pretty down to earth. Looking for someone to send me over the moon.

Hoping you're someone who likes sushi, is down for ramen adventures. I love village Yokocho. I also hope you're the type who would jump in the ocean with me if we went to the beach, and extra points if you're a creative type in some kind of way (knitting counts). 😉
What I’m doing with my life
I wear many hats. I'm currently working at a major fashion photography studio. Just to be open & honest, it's a lot of late nights for me at the moment. I'm also a commercial & editorial photo assistant on the side, managing a paint & sip art studio on the side, and I work on my portfolio when I can. Other than that, I'm getting back into drumming, trying to learn some Spanish, growing as a human being, and a bunch of other awesome stuff.
I’m really good at
Knowing random trivia, using chopsticks, uncontrollably eavesdropping on conversations I hear in Japanese, singing, darts, fixing things (I'm a regular McGuyver), being clever, finding good restaurants, decent cook, taking pictures, hopefully making you laugh.
The first things people usually notice about me
My charming smile.

Also, I've been wearing glasses lately. I'll go back to contacts eventually.

Sometimes I go bearded. Right now, no beard.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I'd like to complete my own fiction novel someday. Most recent reads...Dark Tower: The Gunslinger by Stephen King, Honeymoon by James Patterson, The Power of Intention by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer

Movies: I LOVE THEM! I have too many favorites to list here. Most favorite movies that I've watched most recently? The Revenant, Deadpool, Ghostbusters, and others that for some reason aren't coming to mind as I type this. Will update.

TV: I don't watch a lot of TV these days, but when I get a chance to catch an episode of something, most recently it's been Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Legion, iRobot, or something random on Netflix.

Music: My tastes are pretty eclectic. I'm all over the place. If you were to look through my iTunes, you'd find The Weekend, M83, Xx, Run the Jewels, The Killers, LCD Soundsystem, Led Zepplin, Coldplay, Beastie Boys, 90's alternative, Weezer, Passion Pit, Mozart, Johnny Cash, Foo Fighters, MJ, Daft Punk, Jay Z, Tony Bennett, Brazilian Bossa Nova music, and Latin American music to name a few. So I'm pretty much all over the place.

Food: Popcorn, salmon, old fashioned burger & fries, fish & chips, sushi, Japanese ramen (the good stuff you get at sit down Japanese restaurants), and okonomiyaki (maybe I'll introduce you to it sometime if you've never had it). I can also eat vegetarian. I'm also a big fan of trying new or interesting things that I've never had before like i'm on a food network show. I ate iguana in Curacao and turtle in St. Lucia. So I'm pretty fearless when it comes to food. That said, of course I prefer the good stuff that won't make the average person cringe in horror. :)
Six things I could never do without
Japanese Food
I spend a lot of time thinking about
-Would a frosty be considered a solid or a liquid? Maybe a soliquid?
-What disease did cured ham actually have?
-Why is it that toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a horrible crisp? No decent human being would ever choose that setting.
-Why is it that people say they “slept like a baby” when babies wake up like every two hours?
-Why do we hear ourselves think?
-Is it ok for vegetarians to eat animal crackers?

Ok, ok. These aren't my thoughts. They're George Carlin's. I actually think about...Home (Tennessee), dreams and plans for the future, how to become a better person as a whole.
On a typical Friday night I am
Depends. I might be working or I might be out and about. Or I might be debating on what to do until I give up and decide to just chill at home and watch a movie. Ya never know.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Laika is a word in an Arcade Fire song (Neighborhood #2) and 1901 is a Phoenix song. Both of which happened to be playing while I was trying to think of a username. Side note: I also tend to be most attracted to other "oreos" like myself or people of mixed or different racial backgrounds than my own. Just being honest.
