My self-summary
Nashville born & raised. I work for a major commercial photo studio in Chelsea as a digital technician. I moved to NY in 2011 after teaching English in Tokyo, Japan got cut short by Fukushima. I think things might be better now in Tokyo, but at the time in I was very much feeling "no thank you" to radiation poisoning. So now I'm livin' in Brooklyn! 😎

I'm a gentleman omnivore with a goofy side. Southern gentleman type sometimes. I'll open doors because that's how I was raised even though I know you're a capable woman who can do it herself. I'm love the theater experience, so I love going to the movies. I'm a tech lover and a fan of popcorn, foodie adventures, most types of music (I play guitar and drum set too) and photography. I'm also pretty down to earth. Looking for someone to send me over the moon.

Hoping you're someone who likes sushi, is down for ramen adventures. I love village Yokocho. I hope you're the type who would jump in the ocean with me if we went to the beach, and extra points if you're a creative type in some way (knitting counts).
What I’m doing with my life
I wear many hats. I'm currently working at a major fashion photography studio. Just to be open & honest, it's a lot of late nights for me at the moment. I'm also a commercial & editorial photo assistant on the side, managing a paint & sip art studio on the side, and I work on my portfolio when I can. Other than that, I'm getting back into drumming, trying to learn some Spanish, growing as a human being, and a bunch of other awesome stuff.
I’m really good at
Knowing random trivia, using chopsticks, uncontrollably eavesdropping on conversations I hear in Japanese, singing, darts, fixing things (I'm a regular McGuyver), being clever, finding good restaurants, decent cook, taking pictures, hopefully making you laugh.
The first things people usually notice about me
My charming smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: A few past books I really enjoyed have been Great Expectations, A Beautiful Mind, Help! A Bear is Eating Me, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and Stephen King novels. Oh, and Awaken the Giant.

Movies: I LOVE MOVIES! I have too many favorites but a few that I could watch over and over again are...
Back to the Future, The Avengers, Inception, The Dark Knight, The Bourne Movies, Lost in Translation, Walk the Line, Cashback, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Ghostbusters, The Wedding Singer, Monty Python & the Search for the Holy Grail, Zoolander, The Ring, Snatch, 28 Days Later, Life is Beautiful, Life in a Day.

TV: I don't watch a lot of TV these days, but when I get a chance to catch an episode of something it'll most likely be Orange is the New Black, Anthony Bordain: Parts Unknown, Kitchen Nightmares, Gotham, Blacklist, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Mythbusters or Netflix reruns of Cheers.

Music: My tastes are pretty eclectic. But if you look through my iTunes, you'd find anything from The Killers, LCD Soundsystem, Led Zepplin, Mos Def, Coldplay, Beastie Boys, Beck, Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer, Passion Pit, Mozart, Johnny Cash, Foo Fighters, Daft Punk, Snow Patrol, Tony Bennett, Brazilian Bossa Nova music, and Latin American music to name a few. So I'm pretty much all over the place.

Food: Popcorn, salmon, old fashioned burger & fries, fish & chips, sushi, Japanese ramen (the good stuff you get at sit down Japanese restaurants), and okonomiyaki (maybe I'll introduce you to it sometime if you've never had it). I can also eat vegetarian. I'm also a big fan of trying new or interesting things that I've never had before like i'm on a food network show. I ate iguana in Curacao and turtle in St. Lucia. So I'm pretty fearless when it comes to food. That said, of course I prefer the good stuff that won't make the average person cringe in horror. :)
The six things I could never do without
Japanese Food
I spend a lot of time thinking about
-Would a frosty be considered a solid or a liquid? Maybe a soliquid?
-What disease did cured ham actually have?
-Why is it that toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a horrible crisp? No decent human being would ever choose that setting.
-Why is it that people say they “slept like a baby” when babies wake up like every two hours?
-Why do we hear ourselves think?
-Is it ok for vegetarians to eat animal crackers?

Ok, ok. These aren't my thoughts. They're George Carlin's. I actually think about...Home (Tennessee), dreams and plans for the future, how to become a better person as a whole.
On a typical Friday night I am
Depends. I might be working or I might be out and about. Or I might be debating on what to do until I give up and decide to just chill at home and watch a movie. Ya never know.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Laika is a word in an Arcade Fire song (Neighborhood #2) and 1901 is a Phoenix song. Both of which happened to be playing while I was trying to think of a username. Side note: I also tend to be most attracted to other "oreos" like myself or people of mixed or different racial backgrounds than my own. Just being honest.
